Well, I think wherever she does land, she'll be at UCF at least by junior year. She fell in love with the Rosen School of Hospitality, just didn't like that it was far away from the main campus, where she would love to spend her first 2 years of college life before heading over to Rosen.

If she puts down Summer, will they look at her for Summer and Fall and if she puts down Fall will they look at her for Summer, too?

I like how Penn State asked, "If you do not meet the criteria for Fall would you consider Summer?" check yes or no.

I think if she puts down Summer, they will look at either Summer A, B, C, or D and possibly Fall, not too sure, I will ask the Campus. Also, to answer the second part of your question, I will inquire about it. The Rosen School of Hospitality is gorgeous. It's on Universal Blvd, which is really close to Universal Studios and it's in the heart (IMO) of the tourist district. Best of luck to your daughter in whatever she decides to do.

I should have applied for summer but I wasn't sure. =S Like JerseyShoreMom said I hope some of the luck you guys have been having rubs off LOL ;)

In 04 I think I applied for Fall but they sent me acceptance for summer. Don't take your chances if they do that, cause it blew up in my face and I had to wait till I finished community college.

If your D has a stronger GPA (over 3.5) and SAT (1200 M/CR) then she should be no problem at all for fall admission. It is only the borderline applications that really have little chance for Fall admission. Last year my friend's son was deferred from summer admission with a 25 ACT and a 3.5 (weighted) GPA. UCF looks at weighted core academic GPA's in admissions. They deferred him for grades, not test scores (he called to ask). They wanted him to send his midyear grades (in January) before they would give him a decision. By the time he got accepted in March, he was already commited to UNF in Jacksonville.

There is a bit of an admission's advantage (in addition to the other advantages which were stated in another thread) to applying for summer as opposed to fall but if UCF is a strong match or safety for you/your child then it dosen't matter at all.

If you scroll down you can see what percentage of students were ENROLLED for FAll 2007 from each SAT/ACT/GPA range. This will tell you if you are a match/reach/safety for UCF.

My understanding based on last years admissions cycle is that if you apply for Fall and are not competitive you will be deferred or considered for Summer. If you apply for Summer you are considered for Summer. I suspected last year that some who applied for fall and were deferred would have been accepted for summer by applying early FOR SUMMER.
