Acceptance Letters

They give you this purple form and you fill it out, send it back, and pray.

Interesting… What kind of stuff is on the purple form? Stuff you can write to hopefully sway their minds in the right direction orrrr?

to sway their minds in the right direction, you need to send in an appeal packet.

It asks you to fill out your Senior course load.

On the letter it says “…waitlist decisions will be based only upon information already on file and the senior-year information you provided on this form. Additional materials, such as transcripts and letters of recommendation will not be considered.”

Got in! Proud to potentially (pending financial aid) be a Husky.

Acceptance “package” was a standard acceptance letter on a single piece of copy paper. Good for you UDub, being all environmentally conscious and everything. But for those still waiting on notifications, don’t have a brain aneurysm if you don’t get a package thicker than the tax code in the mail.

For those of you who like to see the stats:

OOS
2090 SAT (780/680/630)
3.55 UW GPA, IB (anyone else an IB kid?)
EC’S: Eagle Scout and Troop SPL, 4 years of swim, member of sketch comedy troupe

I indicated Business Administration as my major, but if I go to UW I’d most likely do a CSE major and take some classes in Foster, perhaps even an econ minor.

Congratulations to all others accepted!

Celelel: True, to simply go on the waitlist that is all the information UW will have on you.

You can appeal a waitlist decision though. Although, that is a separate package all together. You can send in a letter of recommendation, and any other material that will help your case.

A friend of mine sent 2 letters of rec, a personal statement, an updated list of extra curriculars, and transcripts. He was one of the lucky ones to have a successful appeal.

I’m still waiting haha. Out of state, 3.38 gpa, 1920 SAT…

@StreetsAhead

I’m an IB kid! I got in with a rather low GPA too (3.39, 2100 SAT)

I’ve been ruminating on what Boltz17 put forth regarding the randomness of the letters. First, the majority of the acceptances posted here have stats a bit above the UW norm, quantifiable measurements that the UW uses, like GPA and SAT/ACT scores. This doesn’t look into the more important essays and ECs and such, but it does portent some higher than average acceptees in the easily measurable fields.
On the same train of thought, but from a far more personal standpoint, I live in a podunk Eastern WA town and I’d estimate my graduating class at about 140. I checked around on Friday to see who had heard back… about 55 of us had applied to the UW, and 6 had heard back. Of those who had,the four of us who I know well were all varsity athletes and National Merit finalists with 3.85(me)-4.0 (everyone else) and 2150+ SATs. Our intended majors are all over the place (business, pre-med, physics, art history) so my guess is that probably has little affect.
Just my thoughts/experiences with the matter.

So do you think the people that are ‘borderline’ are the ones who haven’t received letters yet?

And I live in SoCal and so far of the people who have heard back and got ACCEPTED, I would roughly estimate their SAT average is about 2000 with a GPA around 3.6/3.7, and the people who have heard back and got REJECTED had roughly an 1800 SAT average and like a 3.0/3.1 GPA. My friend hasn’t heard back either and he is a varsity baseball player with a 2100 SAT and a 3.7 unweighted, so he should have heard back now assuming my theory that the people who hear back first are the ones where the decision is easy to make: both rejection and acceptance.

Wow this year so many kids got in but so many didn’t! Almost everyone from my school got in and we have such different credentials. From the kids that got accepted to my school the SAT scores ranged from 1350-1950. I am glad I got accepted! I will probably be attending UW too. Good luck to everyone still waiting. And don’t worry too much if you haven’t gotten a letter yet. I know people who didn’t get their letter until two weeks after everyone else.

Someone got in with an SAT of 1350…?

I got my letter on saturday, i live in vermont.

Got the “Big Envelope” today in NJ:

GPA 3.67
ACT 31
Lots of ECs

Now comes the hard decision part…

Congrats to all that got in.

Accepted today :)

OOS Socal resident
GPA (NW): 3.53
GPA (W): 3.81
SAT: 1780
I had excellent essays and extracurriculars though, so I’m sure that’s what helped me get in.

Congrats to everyone else who got in! And I’m crossing my fingers for people still waiting or those who were wait-listed (:

Accepted in SoCal

GPA: 3.55 UW; 4.0 W
SAT: 2080

Accepted from So Cal, but there’s room for more! (:
Stats:
UW GPA: 3.67
SAT: 1980

Best of luck to those waiting!

Actually two people got in from my school with at 1350.

Are you sure that was 1350 total, not just two scores without essay? Wow! That seems low. I have heard that UW sometimes does not care about SAT all other factors high (GPA, extracurricular, etc…)
