We recieved a call from Catherine McNeela last night. Finally an acceptance!!! It feels so good after all the traveling, auditioning and waiting. Now we can relax a bit while awaiting other school's decisions. Elon is a very impressive program!

Congrat's to those accepted!

For those waitlisted academically, unless things have changed, the academic acceptance and the MT acceptance are done separately. I believe your online status is for academic only and that MT does not show up that way. Even if a student gets in for MT, that student would not be able to attend Elon unless they also get in academically, so your student would have to get in academically from the waiting list. Surely your word on MT will come soon, since calls have been made.

Has anyone heard anything since Saturday?? There was a post on Facebook that indicated all calls would be made by today. Anyone know if there's any truth to that? Our phone has never been soooo quiet! The waiting seems endless and all at our house are avoiding talking about anything MT related...yes there's an elephant in the middle of the room. It has forced us to realize that we can carry on a conversation without someone bursting into song.

Oh, and does anyone know if there's an Elon facebook group for the MT class of 2013 yet? Thanks!

We received a call on Saturday before noon. Ms. McNeela asked that my son please make his decision as soon as possible. I am sure that they would like to work their waitlist soon as there are some students who have multiple offers.

Having said that, it is quite difficult to make a decision until the financial aid packages come through. Some of the fa packages will not be ready until the middle of April, so it is virtually impossible to compare offers and make a decision.

I would encourage those with multiple offers to at least advise the one safety school that you most likely will not accept the offer so that someone else can receive a spot.

Good luck to all. I know that the waiting is horrible. It will all be over very soon and we can start buying the "spirit wear" for the college that our student will attend. :)

Did hear of a phone call to a girl this weekend, Sat I think. Told she got in for MT. Pretty and ethnic.

We got a call Saturday around noon (we live in CA) from a woman who wanted to talk to my daughter. My daughter was away at a theater festival, and the woman said she'd call back. But haven't heard from her yet. Thinking it may have been Cathy...

do you think it would be inappropriate for me to call and check?

D. just received a no for MT from Elon via snail mail. She was accepted fairly early in the process to CCM for MT and continues to be excited about that prospect but had hoped to have a choice a little closer to home, (we're in NC). I keep clinging to "everything happens for a reason" and "you'll land where you're supposed to be" but can't help but be a little sad that an in state choice isn't possible.

katesmom2&5, if it's any consolation, I'm sure you know that CCM is an exceptionally highly regarded program to which many of our kids would have been thrilled to be accepted.

Sure makes you scratch your head, though...

perischack, Thanks for your response! D. was beyond ecstatic to be accepted at CCM. She really didn't think it was even a possibility which likely explains why she was so relaxed for her audition there and a little more anxious at Elon's audition. She has felt all along that her audition at Elon wasn't as strong as CCM's. Our disappointment really comes from the fact that Elon has such a stellar program AND is closer to home. D. felt so comfortable there and Cincinnati was a little scary in comparison. That's not a bad thing though. In fact, it may be a real gift that the decision between comfort and stretching that comfort zone was taken out of her hands. She's waiting to hear from Otterbein so it looks like she'll be Ohio bound either way. Please remind me come Sept. that I thought stretching one's comfort zone was a good idea!! Thanks again for the support and congrats to all who are Elon bound...it's a superb program in a beautiful place!

I just got my rejections from both the MT and Acting programs. the MT rejection didn't surprise me.. but I am pretty disappointed about the Acting one.

I did get into the Theatrical Production/Design program... so I might still come to do that.

Laurel - did you get it via email? My D is still waiting to hear, though she is on the "waitlist" for the school so we didn't think that was a good sign....

I did get it via e-mail, but only because i specially requested that. I live in Ukraine, so that was the best way for me.

I e-mailed Cathy McNeela and she said that all calls have been made already.

my D got her rejection today - snail mail I think. so that settles that!

Our D's denial came via snail mail today also - well, now we can stop hoping and move on... Best of luck to all of you who got in - I'm sure we'll see you on stage with our kids after graduation!

for any BFA accepted MTs, here's the facebook group!

Was anyone called to be told they are waitlisted?

Our house has not heard anything yet, I'd be curious about a wait list as well. Anyone else still in the 'not heard' category, or should I presume our mail is just slow?
