Accepted into UCSD By Tag but couldn't fulfil IGETC!!! Please help!!!

I received the offer last weekend and was too excited to check what is going on later. Then one of my friends told me I am probably accepted through TAG program. Since I am a computer science major, the IGETC for many UC's is not required;however, for TAG, it is.
I called the office and they said I could submit a request to report my change ( I should report the fact that I could not fulfil IGETC) and then wait for the result until August.
Is it too late??Omg,what if I will not get the offer from UCSD then?
My GPA is 3.6 with a F in calculus 2 and repeated with B as well as a F in calculus 3 and repeated with a W and a B.
Could anybody help??? What should I do? ?
Thanks!!

Call them again. Different counselors say diff things. If they say the same thing, I suggest you turn in the update form ASAP. and I mean ASAP. There may be a chance that they might not see your update and reject you. You can always appeal. good luck.

How can someone manage a GPA of 3.6 despite getting an F in each of two high unit courses like Calculus 2 and Calculus 3? If each of those two courses were four semester units it would take more than 70 semester units of nothing but A grades to get to a 3.6.

^Academic Renewal. OP said they repeated the courses.

Submit the change as soon as possible. Your TAG will be rejected, but you should have a decent chance as a normal applicant and at least you won’t be in jeopardy of being rescinded.

@Lemaitre1
She stated that she repeated each Calculus course that was failed and received Bs, hence her current GPA is still feasible.

^ So if you fail a course and retake it and receive a passing grade your GPA is calculated as if the F never happened and you have the repeat grade on your transcript and the F just disappears? It seems impossible to believe a student could fail a class and suffer no adverse consequences as long as they keep repeating it and eventually pass.

Despite what you believe, dilapidatedmind and kingdomsroa48 are correct. Academic renewal is available at every school I’ve ever encountered, and your new grade can replace the old one as long as you meet various requirements (most often regarding the number of times you’ve attempted to retake the class).

Yes, it’s called Academic Forgiveness. It’s a policy that’s maintained by all the UCs’ admissions offices regarding CC transfers, even Cal.

I believe you only get three chances to take a class. So you can’t just keep taking it over and over and over and over…

I may have misunderstood though, can anybody else confirm or deny??

^^ at my CC you only have 3 chances to take a course. If you repeat the course and fail or withdraw a second time, you have to get a counselor to sign off on your 3rd attempt. After that you can’t repeat the course at any school in our district but I believe you can repeat it at a CC outside of the district. Not positive on that detail.

That’s correct, and that is consistent with exactly what everyone here has said. Zoetang retook Calc 2 once and Calc 3 twice, so those repeats aren’t the issue here.

Yup it is called academic forgiveness as dilapidatedmind said. Well, cuz I called and got a reply like they won’t consider me as an applicant under normal process becoz I was tagged. I reli got confused here but I’ll try to call them tmr.
