Out of pure curiosity, does anybody know anyone or heard of anyone with low stats i.e. low to average GPA, SAT scores, ECC’s, grades who got into UVA with average to low stats? I’m a transfer student at NVCC and been out of high school since 2008 and at nova on and off (personal circumstances) since then. So I’m worried I won’t get in
For transfer admission, we’ll be looking at all of your academic work. Course selection and grades in college courses will be most important in our process.
For first-year admission, GPA is not standardized and so we don’t use that number as a bar. I have a good number of students who have transferred during high school. The combination of two different grading systems can affect the student’s final statistics. Hence, the importance of a holistic process.
@“Dean J” so since mostly grades are looked at, does that mean even if I retook the SAT or ACT again, it would be little to no significance in the admissions process? And do lots of gaps between semesters look bad (mostly due to financial/personal circumstances at home)
Thank you for replying, Dean J
