How come it doesnt tell me which college i got waitlisted from? I applied to CLA and College of Design, but my tracker just says i got waitlisted and doesnt tell me any specifics. My communication center doesnt say either. Is it just safe to assume i got waitlisted from both?
Yes you got waitlisted from both. If you got admitted to one of them it would say ‘NHS Admit Alternate waitlist other’ on MyU. It would also have a congratulations message on the tracker telling you that you are admitted. But if you only see waitlisted it means you are waitlisted for both. Hang in there, you will still get in, waitlisted is better than rejected.

Does it mean dreaded wait list?
I believe that everyone gets that message before their decision comes out, be it good or bad. However, I was wait listed, so what do I know?

Its so strange how theyre waitlisting basically everyone
As someone had already indicated above, once the final financial letters start to come out, you will start to see people decline their acceptances and admissions will start to move on into those who are wait listed. They want to get a better indication of yield. We were accepted early on as well and we are still waiting for the actual financial information. All indications are that we will be declining as well. Probably a few more weeks of this pain in the a… process.

@collegeisago I am also an OOS Carlson kid. My financial aid is a $5,500 unsub loan (which is federally mandated), and a $41,000 parent PLUS loan! How generous of them (excessive eyeroll)! Still holding out hope for any scholarship money.
@Tim20188 All I see is Blanks on my Financial status. I do not have any information. Keep in mind that the $41K will jump another $3K or so per year since UMTC is aggressively raising the cost of tuition for OOS students. There is no doubt that Carlson is a fantastic school and maybe is worth that kind of money. (MAYBE!!!), but when similar ranked schools are offering scholarship money, it is hard to justify spending the money. The other issue is that many of the other schools were able to offer those scholarships early in the process which makes it much easier when narrowing the choices. I already visited the schools that made both academic and financial sense which puts Minnesota at
disadvantage. They have been sitting with my acceptance for close to 6 months which makes me think that if has not happened by now, there is very little chance that it will happen in the next few days. I will wait to see what happens, but there is very little chance that I will be attending.
@collegeisago @Tim20188 OOS-S received a merit scholarship at the end of February, $10,000 per year for each of 4 years. CSE- 1480 SAT, 34 ACT, 3 Varsity sport athlete, 98/100 GPA (unweighted), school does not rank.

There are so many students hoping to attend Minnesota as their first choice. If you have made another decision or have another preferred choice of schools that you know you will be attending, then I wish you great success! Congratulations!
This has been a long process and bittersweet in many ways. We just declined our acceptance to UMTC and we hope that it truly helps someone along the way. Acceptance came sometime in October and we waited a long time to see if any scholarships would be offered. That offered never came and just did not feel like dragging the process any longer. Moving on!!! Good luck to everyone on this board.
