yea - another chances thread. i couldnt decide between this and the obvious What Are My Chances but since this is transfer-related, i decided to post it here.

colleges/universities:

Penn State University

Boston University

New York University

University of Maryland - College Park

SUNY Albany/Buffalo

Stats:
GPA: 3.83
Major: Liberal Arts – will major in Journalism once i transfer

ECs:
Opinions Editor
Orientation Leader
Phi Theta Kappa [i actually joined the meetings they have at school yet they never go anywhere]
Dean’s List
*i planned on joining Creative Writing Club or Interact next semester

Misc:
*i attended HS abroad so i really have no idea how much it would affect me. our scale was on a 5.0 sort of scale and i was pretty much high 3.0 - low 4.0
SAT I: 900 [considering that i took the SATs with very very little prepping, i thought it was a decent score. i thought about taking it again and will obviously study and practice for it yet - all the counselors i talked to said to just send whatever score i have]

some questions:

do i stand less of a chance because i will transfer in the spring?

will they hold it against me if i didnt take any honors classes or, more importantly, only took in 13 credit semesters instead of 15-17 credit semesters? and if so, do you think that i should explain why i chose to take 13-14 credit semesters? or does the overall GPA speaks for itself?

thanks again for reading this huge chunk of text. any insight you can give me would be awesome.

thanks again! XD
