I know this may seem off topic, but I my dream school is Vassar and I believe I could make this more of a reality if I raise my ACT score.

I got a 24 the first time I took it without studying and my goal is a 29. I have like 1.5 months to prepare til my next one. I want to know if you guys think this is possible and if you have any helpful tips??

thanks guys

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I think the best thing you could do with $20 is buy a review book for the ACT. Make sure you’re taking tough classes in school so you are used to the reading. You’re reading and thinking are heavily utilized on the exam, much like on the SAT.

For science, just look at the charts. Also, focus on your strong points. It might be reading and science. Study up on the hard questions so that you could get even higher scores on them to offset the other two sections. You might not be naturally gifted in grammar, so don’t hyperventilate over that if you get a 34 in Reading.

Also, I really recomend not comparing your scores to people on this site too often. Everyone’s a genius on the internet ;), especially on these threads where you can meet 10 people with 2400 SAT’s in one day and others who are mad to have “only” gotten a 35on the ACT. The truth is a VERY small percentage gets these scores. Remember not everyone wins the lottery, but most get tickets.

haha, I really like that analogy at the end there. thanks so much for your help, looks like i’ll be spending all of my time in february studying. thanks again!
