ACT April 4 ---- main discussion

i just read through this entire thing, dayum...:D
& i legit failed science :( sooo much harder than my practice tests.

LOL I know... 7000 plus views is impressive in one day :D. Anyways I thought science was easy :).

Yea, Dana, you're right. I was ranting. Just hating to think of all the rejections he's going to get or having to tell him he can't go to School X because, even though he got in, he can't go because he didn't qualify for a scholarship. Unfortunately, test scores do matter when you're trying to qualify for that hoped for merit scholarship, or that out of state tuition fee waiver.

=/ i hate how everything with admissions is getting so strict now, especially with the economy and all...
best of luck to you and your son! i'm sure wherever he ends up, he'll love it! hopefully it all works out

Dana, best wishes goes towards you andyour son:).

I agree with what most of you guys are saying, the 1:1 and 7/25 and 2rad3 and everything.

But does anyone remember the math question where it was like, after how many weeks will one person's salary be equal to the other person's? I don't remember the exact numbers but I know I marked A for that one.

_____ + 800x = ______ + 2000x, that's all I remember.

I did 15000 plus 2000x equals 20000 plus 800x. I'm almost 100 percent sure.

Do you remember if it was A?

okay, so for the sun question, i put luminous instead of orange. The reason i did this is because it seemed most consistent with the FIGURATIVE adjectives in the sentence (peeking over the horizon), and colors are very literal adjectives. Is this a valid argument or am i overthinking it?

I dunno, but I said orange.

I can see why people might have said luminous, but then why did you pick luminous instead of radiant?

and also, for the civil rights guy's speech, i put no change. what was wrong with the word given? (one of the choices was empatically)

its orange because luminous and radiant are the same, and it asked you to use descriptive language used earlier in the passage. Earlier it was using colors to describe things, so orange should be right.

i put luminous because it was a sunrise... and that's what a sun does during the sunrise... it illuminates... as opposed to it already being high in the sky.

shrug
edit: axy, i know it said descriptive language, but it said FIGURATIVE descriptive language, and that's where i got tripped up.

Hey guyz! do you know what the act writing portion was? was it "teachers want kids to incorporate educational shows into their programs?" or "teachers want tv shows to incorporate educational programs?"

help+!!! i wrote on the 1st option "they want kids to incorporate it into programs"

^ The second one.

w8 how can it be 2nd one?????? *** how did i miss that!!!

it said kids watch way more TV and they want kids to watch more educational shows...***....

omfg will they still grade it?? i clearly remember seeing that they want kids to incorporate educational shows into their programming

...they will grade it, but i'm sorry to say you should expect a really low score... unless you really wrote well around that topic in which you can probably expect a score in the middle tier...

wth..im crying right now...i had extended time because i went deaf and those *ing 6 hours wore me out...i cant believe it..how am i that stupid????? i remember seeing teachers want kids to incorporate education into their TV.. was i thinking

it also said that other teachers don't want this because some might look at it as entertaining. how the **** did i miss the question. i read it like 5 ****ing times...................

i hate my life..i cant take it again cuz junior year is over and im so ing screwed.. * did i do
