ACT April 4 ---- main discussion

i think it was 180pi, volume for cylinder is height (5) times radius squared (36) times pi

Volume of cylinder = pi r^2 h I believe radius was 5 and I can't remember height

was 150pi even an option? cuz if not than maybe i did put 180pi. i completely forgot the formula for volume of cylinders

I think I said 125pi or something like that.

Does anyone else know the answer to the one with the 2 guys' salaries and the number of weeks (x) it would take for them to be equal?

They asked for the expression, and it was something like
20,000 + 800x = 15000 + 2000x or something.

Was the right answer A?

that's what i put.

for the one with the graph that asked what the percent increase was...was that like 7.07 percent or something?

ndgirl, which one were you talking about when you said "that's what i put." ?

I remember the graph question but not the actual answer..

the increase of the graph was 8.3%

I don't remember the specific values, but I was almost 100 percent sure the answer was 150pi.

by "that's what i put" i meant for the salaries, choice A

not the graph, sorry
i meant the increase of the sales in the supermarket
the answer was 8.3%

For the volume of the cylinder one, all I remember is that the radius was 5. Does anyone remember the height?

there was two different percent increase questions right? i can't remember which was which though....i just remember for one i think i got 7.07% does that ring a bell?

150pi and 180pi were not two choices
only one of them was a choice, so if you remember picking one of those, you got it right

7.07 doesnt ring a bell
which percent increase question was that? (give a description)

see im not sure! i want to say it was the little table one but i cant remember!

Wait a second? I can't recolect any of the questions being discussed here..... Do we have different papers for different countries? Seems logical coz a friend could just call up and tell the answers lol.

Btw, I'm from India. Maths was terribly easy(Or maybe coz I've been scoring ~36 on practice tests) English, you never know. Can be very deceptive. But I think it was about the same standard as practive tests I took. Reading, hell! It was too lengthy. Didn't get time to work out the last 3 ques. Seeing as I panicked thereafter, I might have committed a lot of silly mistakes on science :(
Also, is the curve same for all countries?

I thought of another one, do you guys remember the log one?

It was like, log(base5) 5^(12/13) or something like that; I don't remember the exact values. But I got between 6 and 7 for my answer. What about you guys?

abravesone
i remember that one
i have no idea what i picked for that one, it was really tough
which number question was that though
