ACT Dilemma

Hello,

I received a Composite Score of 34 (33/36/32/36) on September ACT, however a 25 on writing. On October ACT, my composite dropped to 33 (32/35/30/36) however my writing score was 36.

I do not know why my writing scores varied this much (8 to 12), but I suspect it to be due to the delays and careless grading as the qualities of my essays were almost equivalent (as far as I can remember) Of course it doesn’t matter anymore, though I could ask them to rescore, so I want to hear your opinions. I wouldn’t like to send a 33 when I have a 34, especially with a maths score of 35 instead of 36, but I am not sure of the importance of writing.

Sorry for the typos, I am on mobile.

Thank you.

Some colleges superscore so send both. If a particular college doesn’t superscore send the 34 because the composite is more important than the writing.

I am applying to ivy leagues and other top schools in STEM, and I have so far never encountered one superscoring ACT. However what they mean by superscoring is not clear. Is it calculating a new composite score or simply admissions officers looking at the scores and making somewhat personal choices?

I searched about this a bit and learned that Stanford and Caltech superscore ACT. Now my concern is that Princeton does not, and they might think my essays are not original. (I have already applied)
