So I just took the ACT about an hour ago and I don’t think I did very well. Does anyone know if there is a converse relationship between how you think you did and how you actually did. Because I know I thought I did bad on my first SAT but ended up doing well and on my second sat and first act i thought i did well but ended up doing poorly.
I’m feeling the same way. I took it today too and thought I did very well on the English, but not so well on the rest…
Well, at least I know I’m not alone.
This was the hardest ACT I’ve ever seen…especially the science section. Hopefully the curve will be on our side.
In comparison to other ACT tests, was this science section significantly harder? I too the April 18th test as well and my ACT practice tests did not prepare me for it at all.
@Deeponz the science section was definitely harder than normal. I’ve taken the actual ACT before and countless practice tests-never before have I encountered such a bad science section.
I am going to have to agree with all of you. I too took the ACT and the science was definitely harder. Planning on retaking it in September.
I agree, this science test was hard. As a person who got a 36 on the science the last time I took it, I would definitely say the key to this one was to not get bogged down in the useless information. For me the hardest, and most confusing question was the last one in the science section about atomic stuff.
@stugace @DarkEclipse @outlooker @DeePonz @kpshep13 @Triniti Update: it would see that there may be some sort of inverse relationship as to how you think you did and how you actually did. Ended up with a 34 composite though my science score was a little on the low side
I ended up with a 31 but my lowest score was English.
For science I find it is best to look at the questions and then the information. Only get out what they ask you about.
@mat324 I didn’t get my scores yet. Still, I’m not hoping for much, I might get a 28 at the most. Might.
All you geniuses, lol. I ended up with a 23 - 1 point higher than my first take.
25 English - 1 point improvement
22 Math - 3 point improvement
20 Reading - 2 point decrease
24 Science - 2 point improvement
I was surprised by both Science and Math - since I do poorly on those, but I knew that I did okay on English and I expected Reading to be bad because of those passages…
