English - No Change from June, slightly more diffucult than the practice exams.
Math - Much more difficult (for me), seemed to be loaded with basic Algebra questions, I tend to test better with a little higher math.
Reading - No Change from June.
Science - same always, pos.

What's everyone hoping for? I got a 25 in June and did 2 days of prep with the book, hoping for a 27 or 28 and the book placed me at 29-30 so hoping I can reach my goal.

OH and the guy who hated the honey-bee story, I couldn't agree more, I didn't know ACT was now using test material from 4th graders, how sweet.

Yeah guys i agree with what most of you have been saying. The first english section ticked me off so much. I consider myself a great english test taker and reading those questions and answers felt like i was doing a 5 year old's work, some of the stuff just didnt make sense!

The math i felt was really hard, but then again its not my strong suite either. The second english was easy i thought, alot of the questions were extremely straight forward.

The science i got confused at after a while. I thought the first part was easy. The engine problem had me a little confused, but I eventually got the logic of it. The one that was wierd to me was the Lead-Water-Hydrogen pressure tables. I just got really, really confused, i was staring at the tables trying to figure out what changed (all the numbers stayed the same ***?) can anyone explain that one to me?

I got a 28 on the last ACT, hoping for 30 or more on this one

I too agree the English wasn't that well-written.

What did you guys get for that question in the English where it was like "size up to" her or something (part of the honeybees passage)?

@Liz?: ACT is out of 36 (each section is also out of 36 (Science, Writing, English, Math)); composite is just the average of your scores. Essay gets tied in with writing, though I don't know how. It's not worth a whole section, but it's def. worth a point or 2 (considered in the writing score) if you do well on it.

Hm...really? Somewhere I saw like a table comparing individual writing and essay and what the score would be combined...maybe I'm confusing it with some other test.

Math was fairly easy, as was science, which is weird for me, since Im a humanities dork. Writing was not bad and reading angered me, ( i had to second guess myself on the last two), all in all, not a bad test, especially compared to June.

i thought the math was a lot harder than the ones in the real act prep book. i'm really mad, cuz i skipped two to go back too, and then forgot to go back. grrrrrr

do they inflate your score sometimes if everybody did badly?

is there a table or forumula for what score equals what points? like if you got 65 questions on the math right, do they have a set number out of 36 to give you?

yea, is there any specific method to determine your score for each section like the SAT???

i really want to know, because i have a bad feeling about the reading section (didn't even finish and skipped last 3 questions). But I am pretty sure i didn't miss a whole lot, if it helps any...

One about y = x. Was the answer NOT a function (i.e. not B)?

What was the letter choice for |x+b|>4?

For the "size up to" question, i wrote "size up." Any other thoughts?

This is going to sound dumb, because I blindly guessed, but on #31 in science, does anyone remember the answer being B. charges?
