ACT without writing

My D2015's school gives the ACT without writing. My D will also be taking the ACT with writing in April. If a school superscores but requires the ACT with writing, will it allow her to submit the ACT without writing (along with an ACT with writing) for purposes of superscoring?

You need to check each school for the answer and often you have to call to find out because they usually don’t tell you on the website what they do with an ACT w/o writing when you also submit one with writing. That they may superscore ACT does not in and of itself determine they will actually do that with an ACT w/o writing. Likewise that they may not superscore does not necessarily mean they won’t use the one w/o writing for any purpose.

Agree with @drusba above. My best writing score does not match up with my best section scores. I emailed the regional admission counselors for each school that a super score matters. Their responses varied so it is good to check.

Thanks for the info. I couldn’t find anything with this level of detail on the schools’ websites. It’s really frustrating that our school district gives the ACT w/o writing.

If it helps, from what I have learned, many schools do not put a lot of stock in the writing.
I was at the University of Chicago last week and they do not even want it anymore. They also super score.
