Are students allowed to send additional recommendations? Some admission offices discourage additional letters and I was wondering if Brandeis is one of them, just to be safe.

that's a question you should ask the admissions office directly...Undergraduate Admissions - Brandeis University contact info at bottom of page

actually I sent in 3 from my teachers and 2 from my counselor and I got accepted...

They made a point at the info session we attended of saying that they would read everything you send them (within reason). They said their record was some ridiculous number (like 15) and said not to do that, but indicted that going over by a few would be okay. D sent GC, 2 academic teachers, 1 research teacher and 1 music teacher. Plus a music and art CD. She was encouraged to send the CD's at her interview.

yeah don't worry about it. i was going to send in three supplemental things (another rec, a supplemental essay "Why Brandeis?", and a poetry supplement). I never got around to the poetry supplement, but still. Got in, no prob. If I remember from last year, Brandeis only requires one recommendation. Considering that most schools want two, one more won't make a difference!

ok

thanks guys
