yah.. anyone please tell us if you have any idea of when the international email will come!!

hey davincicodes, I saw you were also admitted to Reed :)
Where are you planning to enroll?

For those of you who are waitlisted and for whom Swat is your first choice, do not give up. My daughter, who was waitlisted, graduated from Swat a couple of years ago. Being waitlisted shook her confidence for a while, but she ended up Phi Beta Kappa! Yes, she was heartbroken when the letter came but decided to take action. A couple of the faculty at her school wrote wonderful letters for her (these were letters from new recommenders who knew her well) and she wrote to admissions to reaffirm her love of the place. I think her college counselor called as well to support her application.

It think it was the third week of May that Swat called to give her the good news, so it was not a LONG wait.

I know that yield has a lot to do with the number of kids selected from the wait list, so keep your ear to the ground (or call the admissions office) to see what the number is in early May. I also know that there are some folks who have to have the decision made and who cannot bear to leave things open. You will have to know yourself to know how much suspense you can bear.

Best of luck to you all!

Swarthmore told me (I'm an intl candidate) that ALL decisions are sent by mail. I'm so confused. How did someone find out the "good news early"? o_O that actually scares me...because I didn't.

spitfire and verycurious..did you guys find out about your decisions yet? I'm so lost.

hey dahlia. nope, I am still waiting for my decision. on swarthmore's website it is said that international applicants will also receive an email.. so... it might be today or tomorrow..

Er. Are these emails timed to go off? Because its 1:06 AM here in India, and it has just turned April 2 and I am ANXIOUS out of my mind because if its only snail mail I probably won't receive my letter till after May! I'm saying this from ED experience with another uni...

Well it's only 4:30 PM here in Swarthmore's time zone, so if it was timed to go off by the end of April 1st, they have quite a few hours to send those e-mails.

spitfire,, i will most probably be going to reed, but i am kind of anxious about my other college decisions as well!!

btw. where are you going??

Hey, I think I will be going to Reed too ! I love that place. I still have 4 other decisions to wait for and many waitlists... but Reed is great. It would be fun to meet you there. :)

Swarthmore is my #1 choice. I got into U Chicago but it's hard for me to start looking at housing, etc, until I get my Swarthmore decision!

Um, does not getting an email early on mean you're rejected? Because it kinda feels that way and its tremendously worrying. Mehh.

i'm not akor!
