No they aren’t dont panic…wait until the system updates on Monday, then if you still cant call up to the prosepective student center and register over the phone like me. You WILL be able attend a conference, its part of the registration process for transfers. And, Im going to call up there Monday and find out about this Math asessment test. I dont think that they would make us retake a college level course we already have credit for if we didnt do well on an asessment test. I think this is for incoming freshmen, b/c they also have to attend a new student conference.

I know it says no exemptions but I think that it means something along the lines of TSI exemptions.

Even if we did take have to take it, it looks pretty straight forward. It wouldn’t be an Engineering level test b/c it has alot of different majors on there so I think its pretty generalized.

Not yet…I have to wait for them to update their system for it to show that Im admitted. I also had to send them a copy of my DD FORM -214 (military record) for them to put me in as an independent. I filed my fafsa back in Feb. and I had a $0 EFC because I only made $8000 last year.

How many slots are open for the May 25th conference date? I really want to do the earliest one possible so I can have a decent schedule… I hope it doesn’t fill up too fast.

I applied as a Biology major, but plan on switching to Biomedical Engineering as soon as possible since I’ll meet the requirements after this semester. I’m from UTSA.

I dont know how many slots are open, but it does say that you should register for one as soon as possible due to the amount of people they have. Remember, there are freshmen going to these conferences as well.

Ah UTSA… I was admitted there lol (like its something to brag about) for mechanical engineering. It would have been high school all over for me, plus all my friends who went there aren’t too sure about what they want to be in life. Which = party party party :(.

Idk man, my dad is kind of a hippie. “DO IT YOURSELF”…“I PAID FOR MY SCHOOL.”
He didn’t actually pay. He got a bunch of loans and he’s still paying them back.
I don’t wanna end up like that.

I will have to go talk to a financial adviser and see if I can “negotiate” my financial aid package.

Yeah… Im greatful that my family has a tradition of paying for thier kids college. If you think about it… Does that financial aid package include housing? If not, thats horrible. Do you think you can get any more at UT?

Nate, I believe transfer students have their own conference days.
ampzor, true that. Most of my friends that go here are still in the party phase.
mcalvelloxx, I too am paying for my school all by myself. I have a lower EFC though so I might get a little bit more money. I hope you find a way to get more fin aid!

Even if you have completed all of the courses required for the major? Is it because you need a specific amount of credits for internal transfer? I haven’t seen much info on internal transfer for biomedical engineering.

At most I would think you will have to wait a semester then apply for internal transfer to biomed to build a tamu gpa. Kind of like what they do with mechanical engineering, you need to get a 2.85 GPA at tamu before taking upperlevel courses.

in order to do internal transfer…you must have at least a certain hours completed at a&m (aprox 24hr) even if you have all courses completed. So it is better to be accepted to the major you wanted, otherwise try to change 1st choice major and 2nd choice major ASAP. If not, the better choice is to reapply next semester, keep you from spending a year at A&M to reapply

Well… I guess Mays is already sending out decisions. On the Texags website one person claims to have already got accepted as a transfer for the summer terms. If anyone of you guys have applied to Mays look for a decision very very soon. I really think today might be THE day.
