Prescreens are open on GetAcceptd for those interested in auditioning for Music Theatre and Acting at Florida State University. We will begin reviewing prescreens around November 1st. The deadline to submit is December 30th, but we usually run out of audition appointments before that, so I encourage you to upload them well before the deadline.
As always, if you have any questions about the programs or the application process, please don’t hesitate to email me at mdiamonti@fsu.edu or call at (850) 644-5548.
@All4FSU Hi Michele:) What does it mean if you receive communication from Admissions saying that your acceptance into school is dependent on your acceptance into program? Did everyone get that? Or do some get into school regardless of audition?
@thespis1
Good morning! Some students are admitted academically regardless of audition; these are students who would have been admitted without considering their prospective major.
For the majority of students applying to the competitive BFA or BM programs (Theatre, Music, Dance, Film) the Office of Admissions will wait until departmental/program decisions are made before making an academic decision. This gives departments the option to request an admissions exception for students based upon artistic talent and potential. We do this for students who are not quite competitive for admission, but who we feel will thrive in our specific programs. (FSU has received 56,000 applications to date and will receive more before the deadline February 7th.)
Once we have made decisions, applicants not admitted into the BFA or BM will receive a University admissions decision on March 28th. If admitted, the student has the option to attend FSU and declare another major.
If I can help or you need clarification, please let me know either here or via email!
Michele

I want to keep stress down as much as I can so I’ll answer, but I don’t know for sure. They will try to reach everyone tonight, but I’m not sure if they will. All calls will happen by tomorrow night for sure.
Hello there, my S auditioned for FSU! If she does not receive a call, is there a possibility of being placed on a waiting list? Do waiting list letters go out through snail mail as well?
@ilovepizza17
Everyone receives a letter with their result. If you don’t receive anything, please let me know so I can re-send. Occasionally things go awry with the mail.
@ilovepizza17
Please give it until Tuesday. If you don’t receive it, please send me an email from the email account on the application and I will reply with a copy.
