Admissions Quick Question?

Hey I was wondering if you need a nomination if you are a recruited athlete. I have always wanted to go to the Naval Academy. I love the military and happen to also be a good football player. I started my application way before I began to get recruited. I am currently committed to Navy for football and have received my acceptance letter for the Prep School. I know I have to finish my application so I can come into Annapolis in 2016. Its late in the ball game for me for nominations because I wasn't able to get one from my senator and the deadline to turn them into Annapolis was Jan 31. So how does this all work out? By the way I was offered by Navy football on Feb 1. After the nominations deadline.

You don’t need a nomination for the Prep Academy. If you can’t get one from your MOCs after you complete the Prep school then the USNA will find one from another source.

Thank you for the reply. But alright cool, I guess I’m set for now. And yeah thats probably why coach O never mentioned it.

Congrats!
I’ll be seeing you over there at the prep school!

Thanks! And congrats to you, yeah see you there too!

Does anyone know when the naval academy acceptance SLS letters go out? I applied for SLS on Feb.10 and still haven’t heard anything back. Also, if anyone attended it, was it a great experience?

Thanks!

Matt,
I received my letter accepting me to the Summer Seminar in early March so that have been sent out already. Navy (according to my BGO) sends out letters of acceptance to the SLS to their most qualified applicants first, and then if those applicants are unable to attend, they will send out a second wave of letters to other, 2nd tier candidates. Everyone will be alerted of their status by April 15th.
