Summary Stats: 36,000 applications received and 9300 admitted.
Please be sure to refresh, especially if you had previously looked at this data. It is the same link as what I posted last time, you might be looking at the old cache files instead of the new ones.
Are you able to disclose any context to help noobs like myself interpret these numbers?
If the typical freshman class size is about 7,000, how many admits does that correspond to? At 9300, are they at or near their max? I thought tOSU’s acceptance rate was 50-55%. So based on 36,000 applications, would that mean only about 50% of the pending acceptances for Fall 2016 have been issued?
From the data I was able to see, they offered admission to about 19,500 out of 45,000+ total applicants last year. I also saw someone else mention 50-55% acceptance rate, may be that was for 2 years back - last year’s success rates seems slightly less than 45%.
They had about 7700 students accept admissions last year, and slightly under 7000 actually join. So, their yield is nearly 35%.
I think they are going to get more applications, and admit more from even the applications they currently have. I can only guess that their increase in no. of applicants is coming from out-of-state, and that usually also means lower yields.
This is so helpful. thanks for posting. My son is looking into the Agriculture college. We are visiting during spring break. It seems like a very small college.
