I just submitted my SIRS to UCLA and applied for Housing for 2009-2010. Now I am interested in starting early and taking some GE classes for this summer to get maybe 4-8 Units done. I have looked at enrolling in classes using URSA but I am a bit confused on class descriptions. Since I am in HSSEAS, how do I find out what class counts as part of my GE credit? I am interested in taking something easy, maybe Psychology or Sociology and Economics? I have seen classes like Intro to Psych and Psych 10. What are the differences between these kind of classes? Will they count as my GE? How can I tell what credit they fulfill? The URSA enrollment class description is rather vague and doesn't exactly list if pre-requisite classes are necessary.

Engineers have 5 GE requirements, if you're a BioE/ChemE and maybe EE (biomed option) you can pretty much get rid of the science requirements. Check the HSSEAS HSSEAS OASA | Curricular Requirements and Department Information for the GE requirement info.

Oh nice! Those two sites help a lot.
