ah i got waitlisted too!

Call them up to make your case. Admissions office sees thousands of applicants. You have to really stand out to be accepted. One way is to make a personal impression. Ask to meet with a counselor and make your case.
I have seen people turn rejection letter into conditional acceptances: this is where they will accept you if you can do something before the fall semester like additional community service- or even contribute while in school like leadership roles or sports.

Basically an application is so short that you don't the chance to express everything about you. A one-on-one meeting will give them the chance to fill in the gaps where they thought you were lacking, and for you to make a case that you can be what they are looking for.

I would love to do that except I live in Philadelphia so it's kind of impossible for me to go to Pepperdine again anytime soon. However, I visited a few weeks ago and met with an admissions counselor whom I'm going to email soon. I sent updated grades and will also send updated community involvement information. Thanks for your advice

eyebeg2differ, you are doing the right things. My D made sure the admid knew this was her first choice and sent update grades, ec's etc. If you have a clergy person who will send a rec. that would be good too. Good luck!
