I am currently a senior in high school. I am also dual enrolled to my local community college. By the time I graduate I’m thinking I’ll only need a year more in my community college to finish my Associates. After I graduate, I plan on going through with the one year at my CC and then transferring to a University. I have to stay in FL because of my Florida Pre-Paid, but I do not mind being at any location in FL. I plan on majoring in Psychology, which means I have plenty of options. But I am not totally sure how the transferring process works or the details. If someone has some healthy advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Your CC advisor will talk you through the process. The key is making sure you take all of the required courses, and have a GPA that’s competitive for your target school. You apply the semester before you earn your AA (they want to see that you have either taken or are taking the last required courses). It’s a fairly simple process.
Using UF as an example:

UF has the most competitive requirements for Psychology transfer students:
UF also offers programs in Psychology-Behavior Analysis and Psychology-Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience as well as the standard Psychology program.
Note the requirement to have B’s or better on the first attempts on the critical core classes.
Good Luck!
