<p>hmmmmm…</p>

<p>what was your essay topic on?</p>

<p>1-Work on your essay
2-APPLY FOR THE TERM YOU WANT! I see too many students that had Summer B try to transfer to Fall and I’m like “why did you apply Summer B then?” Their answer? They thought it was easier to get into. They wanted it as a starting place to get into but then try to gain admission to Fall via term change. This is the same case with a number of students in IA. Fact is this, and I’ve talked directly to admissions and it’s been flat out stated again and again: THE TERM YOU SELECT (That includes if you indicate IA interest or not) HAS NO BEARING ON WHETHER YOU ARE ADMITTED OR NOT. Admissions accepts everyone as one entering class. There’s no such scenario like “Well we’ll accept him for summer but reject him for Fall. So summer deferment” with admissions to UF. This is because practically…I dunno, let’s say 90% of applicants that apply to do would easily get accepted 10 years back. But competition has gotten fierce. The only time your term preferences are considered is AFTER you have been accepted where then you will be placed in your term of choice (unless like let’s say you wanted Fall but the Fall is full…you get Summer deferment instead). I don’t know if I made point #2 loud enough but yeah…DO THE TERM YOU WANT. You want Fall? Indicate it. Summer? Indicate it. IA? Indicate it. But PLEASE select what you want.
3-It’s not all about academics. I know people who’ve gotten into top 20 ranked schools yet not UF and people who sleep all day in class or never cared about school that get into UF. Yes, admissions is a bit random. But the process is holistic, if your weak on the academic side but strong on extracurricular side, it doesn’t hurt to go ahead and apply and emphasize your extracurriculars and to write an awesome essay</p>

<p>I was thinking about writing about my involvement in My community. I am involved in alot of community service clubs, but i don’t document my hours lol. counselors can only enter 99 hours per year i believe so i only have like 150 :(</p>

<p>the key is to be non-cliche and as unique as you can be. Now there’s really not a way to have something no other applicant has. Which is why I find it silly when people say “find something you have that others don’t.” That’s…not possible really. Not given how like, competetive and intelligent the applicant pool is each year. So find something that is quite rare to find in a person and explain how it shapes you, why it’s important, and how you’ll use it to succeed at UF (AT UF, not after. You can focus on what you do after UF in like the last few sentences. Honestly, IMO, this makes for a better essay lol)</p>

<p>I find it really hard to write an essay that i truly care about.</p>
