Guys this is my first time taking the ACT, without prep, and my scores were horrible- i really would appreciate some specific Advice for each section on the ACT, specific books-red book , Princeton review are already the one's i know of, if there is some other books that helped you ,post it please
this is what i received

I used the PR and the Red Book. The Oct ACT was my first as well =].

I studied moderately, reviewing a little of the PR book during the two weekends before the 25th and taking 2 practice tests out of the Red Book (1 before to know my strengths and weaknesses and 1 two nights before to see if I learned anything.)
On the Oct Act I got a Composite score of 30, although that was my score on the first practice test (my final practice test gave me a 34 and I was expecting a composite around a 32-34).

That said, I highly recommend the PR book, it has a GREAT review of the material you need to know and great strategies for the Rdg/Sci sections. Also the practices tests in the Red Book (The REAL ACT Guide) are amazing. Although they were bad indicators of my score I felt the practice tests from there and the actual ACT were very similar.
