<p>Even though DD is class of 2018, I still like to peek in on this thread! Congrats to you all and to those who haven’t landed yet, NO WORRIES! You will end up exactly where you are supposed to be. As I have said time & time again, my own DD ended up at a school that she swore she would never attend. She is now over the moon happy there!! Her top choice Brown, rejected her during the RD round. </p>
<p>I got into the University of Pennsylvania today!!! I’m so excited!!!</p>

<p>Ugh deferred from UChicago, this isnt a joyous holiday season for me thus far. On to the RD apps :-S </p>

<p>You will absolutely LOVE Yale. DD finally came home yesterday because they HAD to be out of the dorms by noon. Lol we are about 10 blocks away so she had no interest in rushing home. She is missing it & her friends already. She has never been happier! Apparently Yale was voted as having the happiest students? They are exhausted from working so hard but they also socialize hard( I dare not say party!!) LOLOL </p>
<p>I hope you can make it to Bulldog Days in April!! It will definitely reinforce your decision to apply early. It’s what helped to cement DDs decision to attend. She met lots of great people there & they are still friends. Go Bulldogs!</p>
<p>I’m not sure if you all have seen the coverage of TO MY UNBORN SON Campaign. Started by Yale’s Black Mens Union. It went viral and was picked up by both Yahoo & Huffington Post. They were even invited to speak on HLN Network a week and a half ago. Many of the young men are close friends of DD. They are amazing, kind, smart, talented & charismatic young men. We hosted 2 of them for Thanksgiving. </p>

<p>DD visited H for the Yale-Harvard game. She says it’s far different from Yale. They stayed the whole weekend & were able to get a feel for the campus. They couldn’t wait to get back to NHV!!! The dorms, wifi, food…she was not impressed at all. And to think that H was at the top of her list for most of her HS career. She is so happy that H came off her her college app list last year.</p>
<p>@NewHavenCTmom @thegrant I plan on applying to some other colleges regular decision and I still have yet to visit Yale so I don’t have a feel for the campus yet :/. But I’m sure I will enjoy it.</p>

<p>Hey guys I think this is my first post here anyway… I got deferred from Harvard. Suddenly, I have lost all hope of going to a top school. </p>
<p>That’s alright @spockthethird. You still have a chance at Harvard. Also you could apply to other schools still for RD. Don’t lose hope if that’s what you really want.</p>
