I applied for USC before the scholarship deadline as an international student. And just yesterday, I got a mail that said I had to turn in a "letter of financial support."
The reason why I didn't turn it in the first time is because before I turned in my application, I called the admissions office to ask about the "letter of financial support" and the officer said that I did not need to turn it in because my parents both live and work in the US. Anyways, I called them again yesterday, and this time they said I DO need to trun in it!

I know some kids already got their acceptance letters already. Do you think this missing document put my application on hold or something of that nature? I REALLY want to be considered for scholarships and that officer who answered me a month ago SPECIFICALLY told me that I didn't need to turn it in...

A letter of financial support is a must for all international applicants. Im surprised the admissions office would actually say that.^^

I know three people including myself who actually did send in the letter of financial support but the status page said it was missing snd that we needed to send it in as soon as possible through fax. I faxed it over like the very next day but there seems to be some problem cuz why would that happen to three different international students who were 100% sure they sent it in.
Wierd

eh.. im trying to send it in, but is it okay if the amount i put in doesn't quite add up to $49,000? I know I can't get any financial aid, and that's why I applied for the scholarship date. There actually isn't any point of me sending this in now if I missed the chance to be considered for scholarship because if this..

What is "certificate of finance" exactly for? Is to for issuing student visas?

The certificate of Finance is a document used to prve that you are able to pay for at least the first year tuition and other living expenses....
I dunno about the amout needed though

And i surely hope they dont consider us for the jan 10 deadline instead of the dec 10 deadline. I am fully sure i sent in the letter along with other documents by dec 5th. after they reported the letter was missing i faxed it over after the 10th.
I still think they would consider us for scholarships because we did complete and send in the application by dec10
