My son ran into an old friend who said he was going to UVA this fall- how can he already know??? Have they already released decisions for some of their schools? I think he said something about nursing.

Umm…unless he was an Echols/Jefferson scholar or a recruited athlete…I really don’t think he could have known already.

Jeff scholars won’t know until after Finalist Weekend at the end of March.

have all of the Echols scholars already been selected then?

Maybe he received a Likely Letter and he “believes” he’ll be going.

I know that when people ask me where I’m going I say, “University of Virginia, I hope!” It’s possible that he forgot to add the “I hope” or just didn’t think to say it. Or it could be that UVA is his first choice, and he’s confident in thinking/saying that he’ll get in.

But I’m fairly sure that no one knows FOR CERTAIN that they’re accepted.
But as they said above, those who have received likely letters can generally be pretty confident about the decision.

Yeah…unless he is a recruited athlete. I have a friend who is 100% going for lacrosse.

haha uvahopefull

everyone always asks " hey where are you going for college? UVA?" and I always think in my head “dude i have no idea, we dont get letters until april”
and I say “yea, thats where I want to go, hopefully I get in”

haha yeah
only 24 days!!

[i am so happy that i live in hawaii right now, b/c i get to see my decision 5 hrs “earlier”…i know its the same time, but i have to live through less of the day until i find out lol]

hawaii, thats awesome, good luck!

oh and on topic, if hes nursing, then he might have gotten into some wierd program if he is older than ur son.

I thought I read somewhere that JS finalist are in UVA. True?

true, my friends a finalist
