Stupid question but

If you don't get into the primary major then you can get into your alternative major right?
Thanks

And Also,

Bio-engineering, Chemical Engineering (Are they both impacted?)

Yes, assuming you're qualified for your alternative major... It makes no sense to declare Art History as your primary major while declaring Bioengineering as your secondary major, if you catch my drift.

Yes, they are both impacted. Taste the rainbow!

what's NOT impacted then
are the majority of majors impacted or non-impacted?

Basically anything in L&S except the ones that are interdepartmental with another school (like biz-econ).

I don't think you'll get into your alternate major if you don't get into your primary one at UCLA. On the application, it said alternate majors are rarely considered, unlike UCSD, UCI, and some other schools.

Q: If I am not admitted under my first choice major, will UCLA review me for my alternate major?

A: Within the College of Letters and Science, the major an applicant
chooses is not a factor in the review process at the freshman level.
UCLA does not normally consider the alternate choices of applicants who applied to majors in the other schools (Engineering, Arts, etc.).
