OK. I did an on-campus one but I also want an alumni interview as well. (I know that you can have both, but you are somewhat less likely to get an alumni one if you already had an on-campus one.) Does it mean that I didn't get one if I haven't heard from anyone yet? How much advance notice do they usually give you?

A lot of people that haven't had any interviews yet still haven't been contacted. Yale is still processing applications and many of the ASC's are still getting coordinated too.

Give it a few days.

Oh my god. So the lady called my house to schedule an interview with me, and my dad and I share the same name...so he got frustrated with the lady (before he knew it was for my Yale interview) and like YELLED at her on the phone for her to make up her mind for which person she wanted (me or my dad)....so then my dad handed the phone to me and i found out it was for my Yale interview. Thank god it was just the interviewer's secretary...but still

Yale interview #2 my father has messed up for me. Yale interview #3 that has been messed up.

I interviewed today and it was really, really laid back and casual. How do you know if it "went well"?

Also, do all interviewers write a letter to Yale admissions that provides an evaluation of the interview? Or does this only happen when it goes really well or really poorly? Thanks.

Yes, interviewers provide an evaluation to Yale. They also evaluate you numerically on a scale from 1-9.

I think the interview is on a scale of 1-5...that's what I heard from the adcom associate director. Not that it matters...

He said that to get a 5, all you need to is have a firm handshake, be prepared to talk about yourself, and ask a question about Yale. It was the first part that scared me...I have such a weak handshake

me, me! i want a five! me, me!! pick me!

1-9 actually

edit:
i want a nine!!!!!! I'll shake hands with him scratches head nine times for that!!

Yes, it is 1-9.
You should see the thread: YALE REVEALS ALL
It's all detailed at www.yale.edu/asc

Like the title says... Just curious to know.

(I'm one of them!)

I haven't and I really want one too. It's another opportunity to make yourself a person and not just a number. Plus I feel like my personal qualities are one of my strengths and that can be shown through an interview.

I haven't :( And I've received my mail confirmation, so I know that there's an ASC here that just isn't contacting me for some reason.

A score of 5 would actually not be good. From what I read from the ASC website, you need at least a 7

Gah! I haven't either. I was really hoping to get a call today too. Oh well, it's comforting to know that there are others out there who haven't been contacted for an interview yet either. Pre, we both live in Maryland, although I don't know how far away from each other. Maybe our area is just taking some time?

I'm from Northern NJ, not Maryland.

I got my "We got your stuff!" letter from Yale on Friday, the same day a friend of mine (also applying Yale EA) received an email from our ASC person. What I'm worried about is that perhaps I received an email from her that same day, but accidentally deleted it because I was expecting a phone call. Any idea what I should do about this before I explode?

Sorry pre, don't know why I made that mistake...

Dtown -
There's probably not anything you can do about it. I doubt you deleted it. Just give it a few days.
