Alumni Leadership Award

Hello all,

Does anyone know rough statistics for how many people apply for the Leadership Award and are subsequently chosen for semifinalist/finalist/winner, etc? I know around 250 freshman actually receive the award in the end but I have no idea how much competition there actually is.
I've heard some people say that finalists are just all the semifinalists who SIRed, but I personally know a few semifinalists who are, in fact, going to Cal and were not considered for the award as finalists. I know of 3 people in my district so far who have received the finalist notification (including myself), though I'm sure there are more - among 4 high schools there were around 100-150 acceptances to Cal alone, so I don't think it's just the 3 of us.

Thanks in advance.

you wont get into final if you did poorly during semifinal interview…there is an interview grading sytem which higher score gets into Final. This is my I guess based on past freshman experience.

here are the stats for the award this year:

"We received approximately 7,700 applications for this scholarship, and we are only interviewing the top 750 applicants "
