alumni out of state scholarship

Hey guys. Does anyone know when we get the applications for the scholarship? On the UCLAlumni site it says we get them after we enroll but I was just wondering how long we have to wait. Thanks in advance.

I was just wondering the same thing! What state are you from by the way? I'm from MA.

Anyone? I'm from NYC btw.

I just got my letter in the mail today...so you should be getting yours soon if you haven't already gotten it. ;)

The bad thing is that it says that interviews are in June and if you are unable to go the interview, you are considered ineligible. I don't know if I can make it. :(

Do you think it's worth the effort? To write 3 essays AND fly your self to california? Hmmm...i don't know.

what's the benefits of the scholarship? is it similar to the Freshman Alumni Scholarship for in-state students? if it is, i'd recommend doing it; it has good perks besides just money.

hmm...it doesn't really talk about other perks. It's just $4,000 paid over 4 years? 3 essays, 2 recs + interview. What are the benefits of the in-state one?

I just reread my application again and it seems as if the interviews would be hosted in my state (boston?)...not california. Is that how it works?

it sounds very familiar to the in-state alumni scholarship. besides $4000, they will kick in grants for some of your loans. you also get priority registration, free photocopying, mixers with alumni and even a personal alumni mentor in your major/field, and more. those are the benefits of the in-state version... looking at your description of the application requirements and the award, they seem very similar. and i do believe interviews are hosted in your local area, but i'm not 100% sure.
