When do we hear about this? Would it have been with my acceptance packet if I got it?

theres alot of other stuff u need to do and the deadline is past

I filled out the scholarship application. I was asking if I should have already found out if I should have gotten information about the scholarship w/ my acceptance packet.

(i.e. When do we find out who got alumni scholarships?)

its not until late april i think

Alumni Scholarship interview calling:

March 27-30, 6-8 p.m. and April 3-5, 6-8 p.m.

(i'm a current alumni scholar)

i am going for the alumni scholarship interview this saturday. Is anyone else going?

I got an email actually, but yeah. I'm so nervous too...

interview questions (or at least of my most recent knowledge) were creative based, like if you could be someone for one day, who would you be and why? etc.

good luck.

haha i did it last year. i thought i was going to die. the environment was pretty intimidating, not going to lie...i was really proud of myself for getting through it and one other similar scholarship that was actually scarier (bank of america anyone? jesus hahah). but i got them. and thats all that matters. haha honestly its not as competitive as u think it is so just go for it. the way i thoght of it was i will never see these people again in my life and even if i screw it up they wont know me hehe...good luck :)

so if we haven't received email/call we didn't make it to the next round? I'm not sure I understand the march 27-30 timeline? Notification on interviews or the interviews themselves? :)

not all notifications have been given out yet. the last notification calls will be made april 5th. some people are just interviewing earlier due to alumni convenience.

i got my interview notification
someone pat me on my back

pat

Good job!

I'm still waiting...

does anyone know how important the interview is for determining if you get the scholarship or not?

i just got called today.

isnt that the only thing the scholarship is based on pretty much?
i had the impression that the application was just to get to the interviews, and then to the state event or whatever.

omg my interview is TOMORROW.. gyahhh!

i never got an email but i got accepted and now its too late. poo. time to go take out a huge loan.

no no, not necessarily eh? Interviews take place all throughout the next month or two i think. Its like staggered or something

um, very important because the interview determines whether or not you get the scholarship and become an alumni scholar. top interviewes also advance to the next round to compete for more $$.

yes interviews are staggered within the next month. they are by invitation only (your scholarship application is used to determine who gets to interview).

What are the chances of getting the scholarship? The panel want to give out money, so would that mean more than 50% chance?

Wow, I can say goodbye to the scholarship, haha i sucked at my interview.

But i do hafta agree that it was a good experience, and i did enjoy meeting and talking to the alumni people. I'm even more excited for ucla now =]
