@minimusic It was error done by a third party Fordham uses. About 2,500 were affected. It seems you’re not one of the 2,500 though. My guess is you’ll get an e-mail soon regarding their decision. Best of luck!

@minimusic a lot of my friends never got the “whoops email” or any email but if you log in your decision should be there. I’m 100% sure of this. If not, something is wrong.

Thanks guys, but I did just log in using my email address and password and it sent me to the portal where it tells me my application was received on November 20th, but that’s all it tells me! There is no decision anywhere!

Email your regional representative.

Mimimusic…the portal does say (I don’t think) your actual decision. There is a line that simply says that your status or decision has been updated. You click there and then get to the letter with the decision…at least that is what our child’s portal looked like. I did not think it was readily apparent so check again.

I just checked again and there is absolutely nowhere that gives me an update or a link that would show me if I have been accepted. I emailed a representative of admission for New York, hopefully I get a reply!

@minimusic best of luck! Sounds like you’re responsible and did what you were supposed to. I wonder if this would be another screw up on their end…

@minimusic

Are you sure you submitted your application by the EA deadline? Because your status that your application was received on the 20th might mean you are being considered in the RD pool. Just a thought.

I’m sure you will get this cleared up on Monday but I imagine its not easy to wait it out! Good luck!

Fordham is currently number 13 on the list of most expense schools in the country. Even before this happened i questioned whether or not they were worth it. And for all of you still defending the school as many recipients have already stated the Congratulations again email is signed by an admissions official. The reason this happened is they just can’t wait for you to fill out the fafsa and to sign up for those big college loans to pay their inflated tuition. Pure greed.
Update… My daughter did receive a We are sorry email from the school. Honestly its the least they could do, too bad it took them 48 hrs to figure out it was the right thing to do. I guess its all the bad press they are getting. Might actually make people think twice about going. I know it made us think twice

Well at least it’s not number one. :P

In all seriousness though, Fordham was already sending out apology e-mails since yesterday, it had nothing to do with the bad press it was getting. The admissions office is one aspect of the school, it doesn’t define the whole university. I doubt many people would go to college if they determined what the school is like through the financial aid office. If it made you think twice about going, then fine, that’s your decision. There are plenty of other colleges out there for your daughter to attend.

Also, I am defending the school because I like it. Do I have issues with it sometimes? Yes, especially with the financial aid office and some of the rules regarding classes. However, I am able to get past all that and enjoy my time at Fordham. No college is perfect, something you learn when going through the application process.

On a final note, it makes me curious as to why your daughter is applying to Fordham when even though you said you’re an alum of it, you clearly do not have anything positive to say about the university.

My daughter also got the express app with fee waiver, but she sent in more than they requested: all SATs, all ACTs, all SAT subject tests (5), AP scores (3 of them), and a college transcript from the summer, directly mailed to them. She also attached a resume to her app. Maybe this extra information was helpful in giving them a better picture of who she is. She was accepted to Gabelli, RH, with guaranteed housing and decent merit money. I can see that those that got in have very high stats, and clearly Fordham is on the rise. Sad that the mixup happened, kids are already stressed out enough this time of year. Best of luck to all.
