Am I going to get REJECTED by all 8?... PLEASE TELL ME NOT!

^^^get it into ur little head that ur not going to get into lehigh. nor sc. nor uva.

Ouch...
Even Maryland? Don't some places have low GPA's though? Everything else on my application is fine though...

Take a look at this...

http://www3.lehigh.edu/sharedmedia/PDF_Files/LUadmissions_class_summary.pdf

Lehigh has accepted people with SAT scores below 1100.... I'm sure there are exceptions to the GPA to assuming everything else is good...

Im pretty sure GPA is more important than a 4 hour test.

good ECs. whatever happened to your GPA?!?! how are AP scores at least.

well i got a 4 on my ap world history one, the one that i had a D in 10th grade, which contributed to my 2.2 gpa my sophomore year, and as for the B in my AP english class, i got a 2...

really inconsistent.. what's even more ironic is that i got a B at a college course during the summer at george mason in english composition...

so is there any way i can make up for my low gpa?

Hey Knickers!
Yeah.. ok don't listen to these pricks. I got into Penn right? you're getting into William and Mary for sure at least. As for USC.. legacy and your background should bump you up a bit. Your SAT scores aren't terrible, mine were slightly better and you saw how I did. Work you butt off on your essays, they're not bad, really you saw the amount of run ons in mine.
Listen, you'll do fine ok? Tons of colleges prefer interesting to high GPAs, you've got a much higher chance than your ordinary caucasian male from VA with a 3.8 unweighted, that's for sure.

George Mason - match

James Madison - slight reach

Virginia Tech - larger reach

Northeastern - reach

U. Washington - reach

Lehigh - Can't comment

U. Maryland - slight reach

William and Mary - rejected

U. Virginia - rejected

U. Southern California - rejected

Take it with a grain of salt. You might want to look at some community colleges.

Community colleges? Are you mad?

O.K. people...a 2.9 GPA is a B AVERAGE. At my school, that would probably put one in the 50th percentile. By no means is the entire bottom 50 percent of American high schools (especially the ones with SAT scores and good extracurriculars, not to mention a vast improvement junior year) doomed to go to a community college. Though you probably won't get into a top tier university like William and Mary, I'm sure you will get into a good half of the schools on your list (I would be very surprised if you did not get into Lehigh).

I thought Lehigh was just as competitive as William and Mary?

a 2.9 is def. a C.

no, a C is a 2.0

It's a C+/almost B-... in any case... my GPA is extremely weak but the rest of my application is ok...
Does that still mean I'm screwed?

if you have a good excuse for a 2.9, then you arent screwed. if theres no amazing excuse, then competitive schools wont take you. you should still try to apply to those schools you listed, but also apply to a lower tier state school in your state that you know you will get into, and do really well there for a year or 2 and try to transfer

i'm applying to jmu and gmu already.
is usc and uva worth applying to? (i have legacy at usc and instate residency for uva)

did you not read what i wrote? rejection from W+M, UVA, USC

the rest you have decent chances at getting in.

your gpa is simply not competitive enough for those 3 schools, don't kid yourself.

give USC a try but forget UVA, even in state a 2.9 is way too low
USC you have a legacy and could add geographic diversity, so give it a try
