MY LIST (already applied to some of them):
1. George Mason // INSTATE
2. James Madison // INSTATE
3. Virginia Tech // INSTATE
4. Northeastern
5. U. Washington
6. Lehigh
7. U. Maryland
8. William and Mary // INSTATE + RECOMMENDATION + COUSIN ALUMNUS

EXTRAS (want to apply but might not... do you guys think its worth it because my chances are slim?)
9. U. Virginia // INSTATE
10. U. Southern California // LEGACY

Don't even bother with 9 and 10.

The rest of your schools, I don't know about.

George Mason: Match
James Madison: Match
Virginia Tech: Match
Northeastern: Slight Reach/Reach (GPA...)
U Washington: Reach
Lehigh: Reach
U Maryland: Reach
William & Mary: Reach

Anyone else?

Please some input would be nice...

man your gpa is gonna hurt you big time.

Yeah but I think everything else in my application is ok...

rejected from william+mary, UVA, USC.

USC is a long shot even if ur legacy because of ur SAT and GPA :(
gl anyways!!

What about my chances at the other colleges, particularly Lehigh?

Lehigh is probably a big reach.

3 APs really isnt a hard courseload, you need a better excuse than that for a 2.9

I have 5 APs with a 3.95 UW, so it really isnt that hard

Wow you really are conceited aren't ya?
It's subjective and there are many factors that may determine how hard a class is. Like my calculus class, my teacher does such a poor job explaining things that I have no idea what I'm doing and consequently, I do poorly on the test because I have no grasp of the material. In any case...

my friend got rejected from virginia tech with a 1380 sat and 2.1 gpa, so with a 2.9 and slightly similar sat, slightly lower tho, but with the addition of your multitude of your extracurriculars, I'd say that you have a optimal chance. So yes, a match. JMU and GMU should be matches for you because of the gpa, but not by much... i would say that you would get into all three of those schools.

dont count uva out, if you are an urm, then you would have an excellent shot, but I dont know that.

I also know that WIlliam and Mary for you might be a big reach because we had two students in our school apply and only one got in. The one that got in was number 3 in our school and had a perfect gpa and dominant sat, the one that didnt had a slightly better academic record. Just infomation that may help you. Good luck with your college application process.

re-cap
jmu/gmu/tech high safety/low match
w&m reach

steven, what about lehigh, maryland, northeastern, washington??
i also have a really good recommendation from my bosses at work, who are alumni..

i dont know about those, but u'll probaly get into maryland too. I forgot to mention that... it's probaly a 70% in for u. I have no experience or idea with the other colleges/universities.

maryland-reach

I think JMU, GMU and Tech are matches.

UVA, WM and USC are out of reach or nearly out of reach.

The rest reaches.

Maryland is that hard to get into?
And what about Lehigh!!? Is USC harder to get into than WM or UVA?

you have a 2.9 GPA, all of these schools will be hard for you
