Am I hispanic?

My father was born in Mexico City, but moved to the U.S when he was 6. Is that enough to be considered "Hispanic."

If your father was born a Mexican citizen then that would make you a of person Mexican descent. Thus you would be MA (Mexican American) assuming you were born in the US. MA is considered Hispanic.

OP and bulubu, Please read post #1 on the Definition sticky thread at the top of this forum.

‘Amount’ of Hispanic heritage is not a factor used in the US Census and college admissions definition of Hispanic (Note: this is just for admissions, some scholarship programs do use definitions that include the amount of Hispanic background).

The critical question is, do you identify with your Hispanic ethnicity?
