Am I screwed with these two Fs

I'm currently a first year freshman at a junior college. Last semester I received an F in a non transferable math course, it's a developmental math class. This semester I'm going to receive another F which is going to bring my GPA down to below a 2.0 almost. I screwed up pretty bad.

I am not going to have 63 credits by next may (graduation). I'll only have about 53 (if everything goes as planned). I was thinking about not graduating from here, and applying to schools for fall 2015 anyway. I feel like if you're gonna graduate on time then graduate but if you're not going to graduate on time then just transfer. I DEFINITELY plan on getting my bachelor's degree so an associate's doesn't mean much. But since I will not have the guaranteed acceptance into schools because I'm not gonna graduate, will these two Fs hold me back from transferring into a good 4 year? How can I bring my GPA up?

I'm looking at VCU primarily. My other choices are: ODU and a couple of out of state schools. Since my GPA is going to be a bit sub-par, I'm going to have extracurricular activities (clubs, charity work, etc) and recommendations.

I know with some schools, you can retake classes given that you’ve failed them, and this can potentially ‘change’ those Fs into a pass-grade. Talk to your counselor about your options, and do as much as you can. Good luck.

ask counselor about academic renewal with retake. should be fine.

Thanks I will do. But what if I can’t get academic renewal? Will I still be fine?
Any other thoughts are well appreciated also.

VCU and ODU aren’t going to admit you with a 2.0 average. Take those classes you failed in summer school and get the Associate’s Degree. I suspect you are going to community college in VA. Look up the requirements for Guaranteed Transfer: http://www.vccs.edu/students/transfers/

On average, CC classes are inflated by a full letter grade. With that said, a GPA below 2.0 translates to academic prohibition at a four year institution. It is very unlikely you will be able to transfer.
