Amazing Carolina how sweet the school that deferred a wretch like me.

Alright, so I was deferred, and wondering if acceptance after deferral is close to regular acceptance rates. Anyone? Anyway, I applied OOS. Chances would be appreciated.

ACT- C-32
E-32
M-36
R-33
S-27 (Ughh...)

SAT I- 660 Reading 750 Math 710 Writing (2120 Overall)

I have a 3.98 or 3.99 (UW) and took 4 AP classes my junior year and have 3 this year, and have taken honors classes for every other class. School doesn't rank, but probably would be valedictorian (like 400 in graduating class).
Class Treasurer Junior and Senior Year
President and Founder of Young Democrats (Junior and Senior Year), helped on Obama campaign.
Freshman/JV Baseball (2 years), Freshman Cross-Country, Freshman/JV Basketball (2 years)
Varsity Soccer Senior Year (wrote an essay on it, hadn't played since 6th grade, but decided to do it. And our team was pretty good and play in the largest class (A))
Small stuff like debate and NHS and whatnot.

And I coached 6th grade basketball and we got 2nd out of 26 teams in the City tournament (Junior Year) and am currently coaching 5th grade team (wrote an essay on it).

Essays were pretty strong/I got good recommendations I believe.

Wow I'm surprised you didn't get in

you were deffered, not rejected.

with stats like yours, I can see that at very least, admissions would want to keep you for regular round.

what major, if any, did you apply to?

business or economics.

i think you have a decenet chance. i think the first time through you just lacked a hook. also i noticed that a lot of EA accepted students had ACTs in the 34+ range

^ yea for EA u needed super stellar stats or a hook
u seem like a great fit, but they just want to see what the RD pool looks like
I still think u have a great shot, u'd do well there

Stats and extracurriculars look good. The acceptance rate for deferred students is definitely lower than the normal acceptance rate, and is also lower for OOS students. Your stats are really good but they might be in the middle of the pack in terms of OOS students. You still have a good chance of getting in and if you don't get in, you can still transfer after a year and still get into the b-school. Good luck!
