AMSCO or REA

Which is worth it? I'm self-studying, and like anyone else, don't have time to read too much excess information (unless it IS helpful). Which book will also help me produce good essays (and DBQs)?

Thanks

Also, how hard is it to get a 6 or 7/9 on the essays?

bump this up

Go for PR if you don't have the time.

Also, does anybody have the AMSCO answers for the Revised Edition of the AMSCO book?

Well, I haven't prepped, but I hope to soon, I need to find a good book (and time). I need essay help, PR, not Amsco or rea?

I personally haven't looked at PR, but I know that it has good essay advice & you can breeze through the information really quickly so I think it's ideal for your situation.

I will give you a big tip on essays.

Don't write an english essay. You want to write facts and prove a point with those facts. Some people like to skip about 5-7 lines and write their body paragraphsa nd conclusion and then their introduction because you want to state your thesis in the intro and prove it, and if you don't, well its not a very good essay.

There is a thread in this forum that has a site that has all of the answers (not sure if it's Revised Edition though).

So Amsco or REA?

Between the two go for REA since you said you didn't have the time.

read the entire REA the day before the exam and got a 5, never having taken a practice test

how did you prep for essays?

YA I need the revised answers also, now i know y i was like failing all the pracitce tests

i'm reading REA right now, but I'd agree with most of the people above. Depends on how much time you have left to prep. PR for short time, REA for average amount, and AMSCO for the most time. But overall, I'd have to say AMSCO gives a more comprehensive review compared to REA.

Will 2 weeks (not devoted soley to USAP) be enough for REA? I am self-study.

heres the link to the answers, pretty sure its the revised edition.

glucose101, if you want I can help you out with essays, my aim is coorsdan.

Is Amsco doable in like a weekend dedicated soley to it?
How come on the site it is like 16 dollars, but @ BNs it was like 26 something

my version of amsco is 667 pages (not including the test in the back) and the REA review section is about 200 pages. Just giving you a brief overview on the difference in information depth level.

But all in all, is it doable you think?
