Andover Acceptance Package

I actually asked Andover admissions and AO affirmed plans to have Fedex arrive 3/10/12 for accepted students, even though it is a Saturday this year.

FedEx has the packages before March 10th, but delivers them that day. When my first child got the package the driver had the list of local acceptances and asked my wife if she wanted to know what other names were scheduled for delivery(!)…she declined, and hopefully he was joking.

This is going to be an idiotic question, but are acceptances from most schools sent fedex (even in the US) or is this just an Andover thing? My daughter is expecting snail mail responses from schools no matter what their decision.

I remember my Andover acceptance package. Good times.

What does the Andover package contain? Did it arrive on the 10th and do you remember about what time it arrived? :)

It did indeed arrive on the 10th, around noon (if I recall correctly). Hopefully you’ll have the rest of the day to celebrate.

Aside from paperwork, did it contain any goodies like t-shirts, caps…?

Oh guys im terrified. I bombed the ssat, hopefully they will over look that. Oh and I think one of my recommendations was done wrong; they thought I was an 8th grader when I’m actually a freshman

I also agree with the previous posts about alumni interviews. I thought I had made a big mistake in driving a hour to get to my interviewers house because right from the beginning he seemed discouraging. I think it was just his personality that made him respond that way. In the end, he liked me and i liked him. Truly he’s a good guy.

How confident do you guys feel? If i don’t make it, come back to these fourms so you guys can tell me how your experiences are!

At least if I apply next year, I’ll have more than two weeks to apply :p

Lesson learned, jump into an oppuritunity right away and dont waste time!

Good luck to all! Know you will do great!

11 more full days to wait! AHHHHHHHHH!

Andover’s acceptance package is so nice. My mom and I both cried when I opened it last year. Information comes in two folders, one blue and one white. One folder contains financial aid information, if you applied for it, and the other contains a DVD, a handwritten note from your interviewer, a letter signed by the Head of School (sometimes with a personal, handwritten note to go with it), maybe a note from a coach, and an acceptance card that you send back in the mail if you choose to attend the school.

All FedEx packages WILL come on March 10th, no matter where you live in the US. Rejections and waitlists, however, come snail mail, sometimes several days later. My friend and I both applied to Andover, and I think she got her waitlist letter on the 12th or 13th.

Good luck, you guys!! Message me if you have any other questions!

I promise, when I get my acceptance package, I will jump down and kiss the ground, right in front of my neighbors outside, and run around my yard screaming. I’m pretty confident, I got the big G-O-D on my side. :D

■■■■■ same! I will give my parents a big smooch for all of the money they spent for this to happen.

I’ve got another big oppuritunity here at home that will qualify me for a fill ride to a very good college when I graduate. Don’t know what I’ll say if I get accepted.

Is it possible for people not accepted to get letters on the 10th?

Oh btw, what time are you guys waking up Saturday? Do you guys want to stay in touch while waiting for the packages?

^Oh yes, definitely. I’ll be a nervous wreck who’s twitching uncontrollably while waiting in ambush for the FedEx guy, so beware, fellow CCers… not pretty. At all.

^^^
Wow, sounds like you are my lost twin!

I will definitely be on CC, while waiting for my decisions! 8 MORE DAYS!!! :D

Alright guys sounds like a plan? Thanks for replying, I’ve been feeling like maybe Ive been pestering you guys.

My friends dad is actually the FedEx manager in my area and I made a joke with her to shut the conveyor belts if they were to see my package <3 ahhhhhhh I’m so nervous!

How confident do you feel?

^ Ahahaha do it! ;)

And idk, somedays I feel like I have an amazing chance (usually when friends and teachers assure me I’ll get in) and sometimes I’m just like “Local public high school, here I come!” (when I look at my stats compared to others’). Haha :D

Yeah I’ve been praying everyday so that maybe I have a chance. My ssat blew me off. Scored less that 40%… Whoops! :p

Shinelikemystar: I have, little to no, confidence that I will be admitted to a single school this year. I also scored less than 40% on my SSAT (at least the first time I took it) and my grades are less than ideal.

Oh well. It’s done now. Unfortunately, what will be, will be…

7 DAYS LEFT!!! :)

don’t worry guys!! have hope  are all of you applying for 9th grade?
