okay, so i got into the sixth college and my really good friend got into thurgood. i understand that two friends can room together only if they belong to the same college. is there anyway to go around it? or does it mean we have to face separation :(?

Yeah, you guys won't be able to room together sorry... just look forward to when you guys go off campus.

what about switching colleges before enrolling? is there a way to do that?
on the site, it saids you can only switch after completing the writing requirements of that college, but i would assume that only applies to people already enrolled

you can't switch colleges before you enroll -- presumably you need some experience in that college to actually decide you don't like it, and since you don't have any, they're not going to grant it to you.

relax, there are lots of people in every college. having your friend in another one will introduce you to some new people, always a plus.

My best friend and I are also facing separation this year due to the fact that she's staying in community college a bit longer and I'm transferring, but I figured out a way to look at it so it doesn't seem so bad (even though it totally sucks).

Like astrina said, you'll be introduced to a lot of new people. Since you won't be roommates, you'll each be roomed with one different person, potentially making you each one new friend. Then you'll each make friends with floor mates and everyone else in your house. You two will have so many awesome friends and maybe some will be life-long.
