Any more acceptances for Fall 2015 out there?

No she did not write the essay required to apply to the honors college so I don’t if that is included in the acceptance letter. Also the merit aid was on the portal in the finance section, but we did not get the official letter in mail yet about that.

@mdaddy, my best guess based on my D three years ago and my niece would be about $4500 but not sure due to her testing scores. My D got $4500 but had at 31 ACT and a 4.2 weighted GPA but about 4 less AP scores. My neice two years ago had a 32ACT and a 3.8 unweighted GPA with about the same number of APs and got $9K both were direct admits into the business school as well. Last year my son had a 3.7 GPA, a 27 ACT no AP courses and no merit. I believe they put a lot of emphasis on the test scores but can’t say for sure. Both my kids had multiple 4 year varsity sports with captain titles, awards, etc. My niece was more academically based in her awards, NHS, etc… At least this can give you the range of 9K- 0 Did they say why they are waiting till Feb to release merit? I’m curious about that.

Thanks, lefty…wow , you have some smart kids! There was some glitch in her application originally. We all thought it was done but something about the transcript had to be resent…so even though we applied at the earliest date, the app wasn’t “done” until later, thus we only just now found out she was admitted. I guess aid decision follows 2-3 weeks after that. Thanks for the info. Her scores may be slightly better than stated but I’m not sure about superscore and ACT conversion. I’ll post the final verdict either way.

@mdaddy, lol… thanks, My D is intense and a hard worker as is my niece. My niece is one of those naturally smart kids… My D is smart but not super smart but works harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. My son… well, let’s just say he still needs to put some more effort in! lol! That being said they all LOVE Delaware and are uniquely involved in their own interests and all so content and happy. good luck to your D with her scholarship decision, the hard part is over, she is in! enjoy the holidays! :)

Thx lefty!

got an email today from the admissions office wishing me a happy holidays as a newly accepted student. I checked my blue hen account and it still says that my application is under review. anyone else with the same issue?

same thing happened to me today not sure if i got in or not … any ideas

@buddytheelf7 and @ay2444: When did you submit your UD application?

To anyone that got the email, I called admissions. They said that all those who have gotten that message are accepted to UD; however, they won’t be updating the portals until after break (don’t know why). Envelopes are mailed also. Congratulations everyone! UD2019!

So if I didn’t get that email, I wasn’t accepted? UD is one of my safeties so I’d be confused if I didn’t get in with a 32 ACT (33 superscore) and 3.9 UW GPA with multiple AP’s.

@engineering2015 I truly don’t think that this means that you weren’t accepted. You may have submitted your application later than the people who got those e-mails today. When did you submit yours? My D submitted her application the week before Thanksgiving and did not receive an e-mail from UD today. I still expect that she will get in, based on her GPA and decent test scores. If the people who got that e-mail today tell us when they submitted their applications, then maybe we can confirm why some people got an e-mail today while others didn’t.

I got the email today and submitted my application on November 5th. (3.8 weighted 1910 sat)

My son received that same email today. My husband called the admissions office & they stated that he was indeed accepted. They said that they are slow with updating the portal. Snail mail will be sent when portal is updated.

My son submitted his application on November 15th

congrats everyone! based on the stats being posted the academic reputation of UD will continue to rise! enjoy the holidays!

Thanks so much for the ‘Happy Holidays’ email post. My son received the email and never opened it until I read this thread and told him he was accepted.
So far accepted at PSU & UD (engineering).

FWIW, my D was one of the odd ones last year who received the snail mail acceptance about a week before the portal ever changed. So keep your eyes on your mail boxes too!

Just for those of you still waiting to hear you should be aware that UD closes most all its offices from Xmas thru New Years so it is unlikely that unless you received the email noted on this thread you probably will not hear anything until the New Year. Good luck to all those still waiting. I would not necessarily assume that it is a bad sign if you have not heard as of today. UD generally accepts 10-12K individuals, so it will take some time for all the applications to be reviewed and acceptances sent out. And they also accept applications thru Jan. 15th I believe.

Just got accepted into the honors program for chemical engineering!! Does anyone know how I can find out any merit scholarships?

Violet2693:
Congrats on your acceptance. If your acceptance was noted on your UD portal did you check in the Awards/Finances heading? It appears other students received their merit awards separately by mail after their portal had already identified that they had been accepted. I believe some others have been told that merit aid awards will be coming out in Feb. If you were accepted into the Honors Program for Chemical Engineering I would suspect that you should be receiving some decent financial aid. Just FYI the Chemical Engineering has a reputation at UD as being somewhat of a “weed-out” type of major with what I understand is close to a 50% attrition rate. So to survive you will need to work your tail off. Best of luck to you.
