How many weeks did it take for your son to hear back? Congrats to him!
@NJDad65
My Ds Blue Hen status just changed to Admitted today…nothing in mail yet!
Made an account to give hope to those with relatively lower stats (especially GPA). My portal changed to “Accepted” today and I applied late November. I am male, OOS, GPA is 3.01 and my SATs were 1950 superscored. I plan on attending! Good luck to everyone else!
Almost 12 weeks his common app was dated Nov 1 and his score/letters probably arrived a week later.
@UDBlueHen123 Congrads to you and good luck. Could you tell me what major you applied for, thanks
@nelson97 I applied as Business Undeclared as my first choice and University Studies - Undeclared as my second choice. UD accepted me as a Business Undeclared major.
haven’t been on portal in a week now it says not authorized to access ?? Anyone know ??
I just chatted with admissions since the same thing happened to me. There is a technical problem with the portal they are working on.
@wa7945 Thank You
Hi… my daughter was accepted back in December. Has anyone applied to the honors program? Have you heard back? Any idea on when those notifications are sent? Thanks!
@Bluedog123 My daughter’s portal showed her acceptance to the school AND to the Honors program at the same time on Jan 14th. The message on her portal in bold letters said: “Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Delaware Honors Program!” If your daughter’s portal doesn’t say that, and only mentions acceptance to UD, then she unfortunately may not have gotten in to Honors.
Alright finallyyyy everything on my portal has been processed including my fafsa application! Under the checklist though it says official notification sent via mail and I’m assuming thats just what is says for everyone when everything has been received?? My application status is still under review but i just wanted to check that the message under the checklist shows up for everyone!
As previously stated, I got the “due to the number of qualified applicants…” letter requesting my first semester grades in late December. I just sent in my new grades two weeks ago. Has anyone who also received this letter heard anything? If so, how long after your stuff was sent in did you get a decision?
@historylover475 I got the same letter in late December and sent in my mid-year grades almost two weeks ago. I called admissions just to make sure that everything was recieved (since my portal hasn’t changed in about a month) and they said that my grades were recieved and my application was being processed. My portal still shows that admissions is waiting for more information but I’m guessing that they haven’t gotten around to updating it yet. I know it’s hard to be patient but there’ isn’t much else we can do. Best of luck to you!
@historylover475 What are you planning on majoring in by the way? I applied for biology.
It is only about 4 weeks until the time when UD used to announce most all of its decisions at one time so I suspect that we soon should see a progressive number of admission decision’s be announced. I know it is tough but hang in there. The wait will soon be over.
I suspect this year UD may be initially offering acceptances to a fewer number of OOS students as compared to last year as a result of around a 17% increase in the number of accepted OOS applicants who accepted the offer for admission. UD ended up with a larger than expected freshman class and was not even able to accept anyone off the wait list (I do not believe this has ever happened before). So perhaps this year they will initially accept a fewer number of OOS applicants and, once they see the return, then fill in any remaining slots with applicants initially offered wait list placement. I would just recommend that anyone offered wait list placement, if you remain really interested in attending UD, that you accept the wait list offer ASAP (like right after you receive the notification). Unless UD changes its procedure from past years the wait list is not ranked (but it is probably broken down by major applied to) so it is “first come-first served”.
Best wishes to all those still waiting for a decision.
@FutDent55 Thank you! I applied as a psychology major, I hope that doesn’t make it more difficult to get in!
Should I be worried if it’s been 9 or 10 weeks and I haven’t heard anything yet? I know it can take up to 12 weeks to make a decision but it seemed like some people were hearing at 7-8 weeks. This wait is torture.
Eleven weeks and four days since my application was complete. Still waiting. I’m encouraged by the lack of new acceptances posted here lately.
