^i wish I knew! It seems from my stalking of past years’ threads that they did tend to make all the calls in one evening, but…the night is young! Seems like the first posts (and thus perhaps phone calls) were at around 4:30 and my son was called at 5:00.

I do feel grateful for the way Otterbein handles this–their process is clear and consistent, starting with the prescreen. Good luck, acting720! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I’m knee-deep in parent/teacher conferences today and tomorrow, but I will try to respond further this weekend. I’m sure my D would be happy to speak to prospectives too. If you have specific questions, please post.

I highly recommend a campus visit . . . although it’s perfect for my D, the small college feel may not be for everyone.

In short, my daughter is EXTREMELY happy at Otterbein . . . she feels challenged in every area, loves the faculty, the freshmen class, the upperclassmen, the campus and the small class sizes. She feels that the faculty and staff really “see” her and know who she is already. For her, it’s truly the best fit. From my perspective, she’s really flourished and grown in these last few months. For our little family, my D choosing Otterbein was the very best decision possible.

Ditto for my son - a current MT freshman at Otterbein. I’m sure he’ll be happy to connect with anyone who would like to chat about the program! Best of luck to all as you make your final decisions!

No phone call for us either. So sad. Just grateful that my D does have other acceptances that she is happy with. Congrats to all those accepted to Otterbein!!!

actingchicsmama: No, but they don’t have that many to make and other past years’ posts would suggest they are usually all made in one evening.

mtgirl2013: Yes, we are glad that one of S’s acceptances is a school he wants to go to that has always been on his list, even when Otterbein wasn’t.

If wait list folks haven’t been notified, then there’s hope, right? Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone still in limbo.

For those who did get calls, it would be great if you’d post on the acceptance lists for either acting or MT–just helps everyone know what’s up!

Thanks and continued good luck to all… Xoxoxox

for those of you still holding out hope… My S got a call Thursday. Otterbein was his #2 choice however, and he was fortunate enough to have already received (and accepted) an offer from Texas State which was his #1. We really loved Otterbein and know that it will be a great experience for anyone lucky enough to go there!!

For those of you that are curious, I just received a letter via snail-mail that I have been put on the waiting list for musical theatre. (I’m female.) I’m very excited! Otterbein is such a wonderful school. Crossing my fingers…

Just wondering, does anyone have any idea how many are put on the waiting list? Or what the chances are of moving up to accepted? Sorry, I’m just so anxious! Lol

^^I wish I knew more, but it’s always been my understanding that they offer perhaps 3 waitlist spots for every acceptance–the waitlist is structured by type, so if it works the way I think it does, you are one of three girls waitlisted for a specific “position” (I can’t help thinking of it in terms of sports–I’m a football mom). I bet there are other students or parents on CC who can tell you how long it’s taken to hear in past years.

My son got his acceptance letter today, and in it, Dr. Stefano specifically mentions how grateful the wait-listed students would be if everyone would reply early. Hang in there, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Times3 you did not get a call just a letter?

And I talked to them today and they said all letters (acceptances , rejections, and wait lists) went out on Friday so you should have them earliest today latest probably thursday is what they told me.

^^dg22894, the call came last week (Wednesday) but the letter just arrived today. I was relieved to see it came with scholarship info at the same time, so we are all set. I think somebody posted that they got a call last Thursday too, so I don’t know how long the calls went on–my son heard from Teri Devlin at around 5:00 on 3/13 (I’ll probably never forget it!). :)
