<p>Judging by previous years’ release dates – all of which have come and gone by now – it looks like Rice is having a strong yield this year. Sorry for all you waitlisters… you should all hear soon enough one way or the other :(</p>

<p>Owl2014, I don’t understand how you can be implying that us waitlisters don’t have a shot. Why would Rice release waitlist decisions before May 1 (or even start reviewing them) before everyone deposits? Sure it’s possible that 950 or more students deposit and us waitlisters won’t get in but until May 1 we won’t know and neither will Rice. Thanks</p>
<p>kp217 - There is no way to determine that. Based on how my friends and I turned in our acceptance in the last few days, it is likely that a huge number of people have not done so yet. </p>
<p>Simply put, no one knows the yield yet or number of waitlist spots. Keep your hopes up.</p>

<p>Rice <em>has</em> released wait list decisions before May 1 nearly every year. This year they have not. That says something about the yield, does it not? If the yield is strong, they won’t go to the wait list. I’m not trying to be mean, but you should prepare for that reality.</p>
<p>Perhaps no one on CC has gotten a wait list acceptance yet because it’s a relatively small sample size of the overall applicant pool…</p>

<p>I think they are well prepared for it without us giving them unnecessary cause for concern or worry. Any analysis on proposed release dates is pure speculation and nothing else. Needlessly stating the obvious is not helping anyone.</p>
<p>When Rice is ready to tell people whether or not they got in, they will. Till then, good luck to all applicants and do not give up hope.</p>

<p>I don’t think they have released anything yet. I’m sure it’ll come out in the next week or two.</p>
<p>Nothing today, either. =/ I hope they release soon! I <3 Rice, and the suspense is killing me! I hope at least some of the CCers get accepted though, even if its not me. 
They’ll probably be doing it by phone, right? Like in past years?</p>
<p>Also, Duke apparently went off their waitlist yesterday, and they seem to draw from the same applicant pool. No idea if that means anything for us, though.</p>

<p>Ahh my friend got off the Emory waitlist yesterday meanwhile Rice has basically said nothing about how many kids enrolled/if they will go to their waitlist, etc. I know my chances of acceptance are low but I really want Rice so I’m praying here that we find out soon so that I can either be elated or get over it and focus on the school I’m enrolled at.</p>
