They should be coming soon.

Not yet... i heard they were mailed out sometime this week, so people should start getting notifications early next week hopefully.

Did you go week 1 or 2? The week I went there was 1 person from Alaska and Bess whatever her name was had a quick bit about that person. So, did you go week 1?

haha, yep, that was me. I went week 1

Cool. That's one hell of a trip to take just for ADS. But the money is there, my cousin got some, and his roommate had the full scholarship. So it obviously can make up for the huge trek. Do you at least get the adjustment to in-state costs for Honors College or the PA(not sure which one does that)?

i got my notification letter yesterday
and i have a couple friends who got theirs as well

Get any money?

fa-fa - Where else did you apply? State #1, or lower?

My brother, a friend, and I all got letters saying we didn't make semifinalist status. We all went to the second week of testing. :(

yeah, got to semifinalist status,
but didn't make finalist
ah well, no complaints here...still got money :)
good luck to everyone still waiting!

no money for me :(

yeah, i get the in-state costs cuz of some scholarship grant, dunno what it's called. I came to MSU via chicago, where most of my relatives live, for the super bowl party also (plus i got to miss school-always a plus, and msu gave me a travel grant).

I'm doubting that I'll get any money for this, i'm pretty sure i did awfully (in comparison to all the geniuses that came) on the test...but still waiting anyways. State is actually my #3 choice, but since i highly doubt i'll get into my top 2 choices with enough money, MSU is prolly where I'll end up going. I really loved the school when i visited, the only thing that MSU is lacking is the hot, sunny all-the-time weather that I crave

I got the Semifinalist thing, so that's cool.

And you are from Alaska, this should be balmy. You saw about as bad as it gets in Michigan, as sad as that is to say.

Finalist. eh. bombed my phone interview though

congrats to all! I just got notice that I didn't get anything, not surprising in the least! Good luck to the rest of you who haven't received your notices yet.

i don't know about balmy... it was still cold in Michigan when I went there. I, unlike a few other Alaskans, actually can feel the heat and cold. Anchorage and Michigan actually have pretty similar temperatures in the winter, our winter is just about 3 months longer than yours.

I heard on TV that it was -70 degrees in Alaska a week or so ago. Won't find that in Michigan:-)

Yeah, that's true! But you won't find -70 in Anchorage (southcentral Alaska) either. It only gets that cold way up north and in the interior of the state. The coldest it's been this winter is -15 degrees, and the coldest temperature i've encountered is -40 degrees.

Per Weather.com, the coldest East Lansing has ever been is -20. Ever.

Average low in Anchorage Dec-Feb is 11, 9, 12; In East Lansing 20, 13,15. Also, May and September are hotter in East Lansing than Anchorage in August.

oh yeah, no doubt michigan is still warmer! Especially during the summer, where our average temperature is something like 55-60 degrees. Brrr

Still not as cold as MTU.
