AI 42. Pretty low for an out of state admit. Still, I feel for the kid, unless he really wanted to go elsewhere.

It's alrite, he was just "eh" about it. He already in at his home-state university.

show how gpa is important...but i'm still a little surprised that he got rejected so fast...probably because he's outta state

I applied around January 8th and I got my acceptance letter today.

GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1550
In-state

Those are some nice stats.

Mind if I ask where else you applied?

I know the "will they take me?" posts are annoying, but everyone else is doing it, so I'm hopping on board.

Right now I have the initial review, decision pending... message. It was given to me on 12/18 and I applied 10/26 (long time ago...).

1320 SAT
3.5 unweighted, 3.85 weighted
taken 4 APs, several honors
Yearbook editor in chief, community service club president, Interact secretary, 150+ hours working at homeless shelter, lots of art experience
california resident
okay essay, but i didn't do the optional ones

what do you guys think?

First off: I am a dad who is an advocate for my d as she also waits to hear. Your admissions index is 65 (my d 64; in state). Automatic admit for in-state and out of state folks is 70 (3.7; 1220). My d applied on Dec. 1 and has the same message as you. I think you chances are good. You should have written at least one optional essay. The UW does not consider weighted GPAs.

98.9% sure ur both in

Its been like 2 months since I submitted my app and still waiting preliminary review. No rejection yet, I guess is a good thing. Just really tired of waiting...
3.4uw/1130sat out of state

x___x; I'm also really tired of waiting for UW to make up their mind about me. I just want to know if I'm rejected or accepted so I can move on with my life.

I imagine there are a lot of people feeling this way, regardless of some % chance of getting in. I can see it in my d. Her wide eyed optimism is slowly draining away as each day and week goes by. In fact, I fear it is beginning to affect her academic performance as she prepares for finals week.

wow..... I can't believe how UW is so popular. may I ask why?

is it because of the 9th rank medical graduate school? hmm

I understand how your daughter feels. I'm having a hard time concentrating in school (especially last period!) because I want to run home and check the mail to see whether or not I've been accepted or not...

And I think that UW is popular because it's a cheap, big state school in a huge city! There is really no other combination like it on the west coast.

l0ve- it's a huge school as you know...which means a lot of students go there...which means a lot of pple apply...which means a lot of posts on the forums

My status has been updated, whoohooo!

It went from the awaiting initial review to..

Your in the same boat as the rest of us now. That means that you prolly had below an AI of 70 right? Anyway, basically you are thrown back in to the pile and will get a more comprehensive review at a later date. Wouldn't be suprised if you don't hear anything till March.

i got accepted today

3.8 uw
1310 sat
out of state (NY)

Yea im 3.4 uw/ 1130 sat out of state nj

nj? ny? gosh I don't see why everyone loves UW so much I am in state and I got in, but I mean aren't there a lot more amazing schools closer to home?

I would agree with one proposition; For undergraduate work the UW is really no better than Western; Seattle Pacific; PLU; and Gonzaga. However, location, location, location is a big deal with a lot of young people.
