Anybody hear back from U washington yet?

DOes anyone know when I would receive a decision? Like a rejection acceptance whatever? I just need to know because I am going to visit my schools at the end of March. I"ve been awaiting preliminary review for like almost 2 months. Should i call?

platinumtlc, scroll up to ichiboy's 1/16 post. Figure out your AI.

If it is past 8 weeks, yes call them and ask what's up.

I called up UW and they said that even early applicants who are comprehensively reviewed may not get their applications back until late March to early April.

what I said...most pple now won't hear til march

I meant, if you were still awaiting a prelim review after 8 weeks. Because you should have atleast been giving a prelim review. But if you are already Reviewed or given an initial review, it could be anytime from now til march

I'm still awaiting prelim review and it's been almost 3 months. I think that being reviewed means being comprehensively reviewed.

dream if ur still prelim review by the end of this month I would call them up...but wait for Jan to go by.

I got my acceptence letter!!!

Riko, congratulations.

So; you are the first to have an AI under 70 (67) to have reported being accetped after getting the "decision pending" message. Did your message change to "application reviewed" first; or did the letter just come out of the blue?

Do you also get scholarship information with your acceptance?

Riko; if you don't mind; how many honors and AP classes did you take? Years of a foreign language? Math? Science? Thank you.

Yes I did get my application reviewed after the initial, and the letter around 3 days
I was missing my running start college transcript after the inital review in late january, so I sent that in and was reviewed around a week+ ish.
I took AP English (didn't do too well) and am taking AP Chem
Took all honors math classes, but I didn't take AP calculus this year
One year ahead in science, took one class each year (4)
I am fluent in Cantonese (I'm chinese) took two quarters of Japanese via running start for credits
I had a lot of ECs and service if they helped any, and taken 10+ years piano

The letter said a packet of info will arrive shortly, and the letter did not have scholarship information. It did however include an excerpt from the columns magazine with places and picturers/scenes of UW :s

I got my acceptance letter today but I don't think I am going since I missed the honors deadline because I didn't know how to apply. Do you think there is anything I can do about that now?

i'm not sure, but if you've got everything ready, there's no harm in trying. what do you like about the honors program?? i applied for it too, but, just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you attend uw if you don't do honors? (i'm kind of in the same position as you.)

I was just reading on the "Decisions" thread that students enrolled in the Honor's Program normally take ONE honors course each semester. I was under the impression that all courses were honors courses, which have small class sizes.

I've heard the honors program means smaller classes with more highly motivated kids. Plus don't you get to be in the same dorm and stuff? I just a want a more community feel and I think I could handle the workload so why not?

LuckyMe.. yeah, i was under that same impression that ALL courses were Honors courses with small class sizes, but now people are telling me that you only have 1 honors course and all the other ones are regular classes w/ the regular amount of students. sigh well, this definitely defeats my purpose for applying, but it would still be cool to get in (although i've heard that its super selective). so even if i didn't get into the honors program, i wouldn't automatically drop uw because of what i know now of the honors program. it's still an awesome school!

oh, and collegeconfusion, i'm so w/ you about trying to have a more "community feel" in such a huge school. this is why i'm considering pledging to a sorority but then there's the problem of choosing the "right sorority" w/ a good rep. my brother went to uw and he made the school smaller by getting involved w/ ASUW (the student body gov't) so there are other ways to have a more community feel. however, the idea just seems so daunting when you think about how many students attend the U. 40,000!!!

Ah... I see I was confusing the honors program from some of my other schools. I really don't know anything about the program, gosh. anyway yeah I just am uneasy about the 40,000 other people. I can't really see myself at such a large school even though i really love the U and have always been a huskie at heart. I'll probably end up someplace else, someplace small like whitman!
