Anybody NOT want to go to their graduation?

I don't. I hate ceremonies and formalities, especially I will have to stand under the blazing sun for like hours just waiting for my 3 seconds of glory. And it's the same every year anyway lol.

I seriously just wanna get my diploma and get out. Does anyone feel the same way?

I'm really indifferent to the graduation. It is really like the last time we are all together as a class though. Also, my name is mentioned specifically in the vale's speech, so I'm looking forward to that :).

I do want to go, but I have a friend who feels exactly the same way as you, SunPenguin.

Come on, you only graduate from high school once. Go enjoy the moment.

My class graduation will be inside a hudge arena like building.

I use to not care much about going to my graduation when a graduate ( classof 2010). Though after going to so many other graduations, including my siblings... I decided the graduation will be interesting, see what classmates go up in front and state, seeing how everything is place together etc.... Plus the graduation is sorta known as the completetion of K-12th grade, and beginning of a new chapter.

And what happens when you wish that you actually went to it years from now? Look at how it will affect your future in the sense of questions that may rise if you don't do (or go) to something that actually is a big part of your life. It's only a day to sum up your years in high school (and all those other years in other schooling), so why not just go?

I don't want to go either. I just don't see the point. High school is something you're supposed to finish, I don't need a fancy ceremony. Maybe for college though... But I have to go because we graduate on my dad's birthday, and that's his present.

@ Cast. That's what I was thinking and the only reason I am going to graduation.

I am not really excited for the ceremony, though. It takes too long. I have a 600+ class, and I know maybe 20% of that.

Cast,

I honestly don't see it as a big part of my life. The four years themselves were a big part of my life (and not in a good way, lol). But the ceremony? nah.

The ceremony itself? Screw that. I could care less about the whole "high school experience" and stuff. I would just be there for myself and to be proud that I'm done with this one "part" in my life, whether small or big, and now is the time to await for the next step. Of course, I'm assuming that next step is college. I still think that it is essential to be at your own high school graduation.

Lol.. this made me think of my dad. He hates ceremonies and the like. He didn't go to his high school graduation or his college graduation. He graduated from Yale ha.

So I guess it doesn't really matter? He turned out just fine. :]

Well, i for one would not miss a college graduation where the guest speaker is THE J.K. Rowling (lucky Harvardians!!)

Personally, i think the senior class would look dashing in those laced kite-hats and flowy robes :)

I don't, but a lot of my family members are flying over here so I have no choice:(

i REALLY don't want to go. To start, magically the temperature at all the graduations at my school is like 103 degrees and our caps and gowns are ridiculously thick (every class since thus of exsistance). So, i'd rather not be apart, and the crying and stuff

I got some people to vote for "I'm On A Boat" as our graduation song, so if it gets chosen I can't wait to go, otherwise, **** that ****

ahh ive been fighting with my best friend for weeks over this! she doesnt want to go to graduation cuz its long and boring cuz so many awards get given, and its 400 francs which IS ridiculous, BUTTT its a once in a lifetime thing so its WORTH it in my opinion (ya ya, i know college will have one too, but with dfferent people!!). Anyways i finally convinced her to go because itll be wonderful being with her and all our other friends on our last official time as highschoolers (ahhh!) =]

why not go? Its once in a lifetime and it provides closure. It doesnt have to be fun, but its something that must be done.

lol @ ironmetal250
that would be hilarious

My class is 780 people. I hope you understand why I don't want to go...

I don't want to go because I got enough credits to graduate a year early, and I'm the only who's doing so. I don't even think most people know I'm graduating early...it's going to be awkward.
